STL has 6 pts in 2 matches, but they can't keep it up, right? I mean, they are not going to keep getting a free goal from a brainless backpass every week, are they?

Revs didn't get nominated for Goal of the Week Matchday, but MIA's Robert Taylor has to have it locked up. Funny thing is, it looks like Mota's pass was intended for Pizarro and Taylor intercepted it. He still gets the assist though.

Highlight of last night's CCL matches was the dog on the field in El Salvador.

All three MLS teams that played last night were on the road, and two (Philly and Orlando) came away with scoreless draws in the first leg of their series. Philly hosts El Sal's Alianza next Tuesday, while Orlando City will host Mexico's Leon on Wednesday. The other, Austin, got crushed 3-0 in Haiti by Violette FC, the second leg is in Haiti next Tuesday. That game very much reminded me of the Joe Public disaster (of course, that was a home game for us).

Tonight has another trio of games, but only one involves an MLS team with Vancouver hosting Real España (Honduras). The final MLS team will be in Costa Rica tomorrow night as LAFC travels to Alajuelense.

The game was played in the Dominican Republic due to safety concerns in Haiti. The return leg is Tuesday in Austin.

And yes, this may have been one of the worst results for an MLS club since the Joe Public disaster. Hopefully Austin can set things straight at the Q2.

So, after shocking Austin in "home" leg of SCCL (actually played in Dominican Republic), Haitian side Violette FC may have to withdraw due to only 12 players having US visas.

Where have I heard this story before?....

With the Revs playing Sunday, Saturday is wide open. A good chance for me to check out the MLS 360 "whip-around" show, although the SEA @ CIN match is intriguing.

After this weekend, the Revs play every Saturday until Leagues Cup (18 straight). And the first Leagues Cup match is on a Saturday too, so make it 19.

I agree. I watched that CLT/ATL game, and how the Revs only scored one goal against that D is concerning, to say the least.

Made me think a Bou for Swiderski trade might benefit both teams. CLT moved Swiderski to a false-9 to make room for Copetti, and he's not doing well in that role. Bou thrives as a false-9.

Last night's CCL results were a mixed bag for MLS. Philly won at home over Alianza 4-0 and advances. Austin won at home over Haiti's Violeta 2-0, but lost the aggregate series 2-3.

Tonight Vancouver (up 5-0) heads to Real Espana, Orlando hosts Tigres (0-0 first leg) and LAFC (up 3-0) hosts Alajuelense.

QF Matchups (MLS Teams in Bold)
    • Philly will play Atlas (Mexico) in the quarterfinal round. Atlas lost at Honduran Olimpia 4-1 in the first leg, but then came back to win 4-0 last night to win 5-4 (agg).
    • If Vancouver wins, they play the winner of LAFC/Alajuelense.
    • If Orlando wins, they get the winner of Motagua (Honduras)/Pachuca (Mexico). That ended 0-0 after the first leg.
There's still a chance two MLS teams could make it to the semifinals.

Orlando tied their CCL match at home last night 1-1, but are out due to away goals. LAFC lost to Alajuelense 2-1, but are through on aggregate 4-2.

You'd think he'd do a shout-out to his old team, but I guess the whole point was to shill for the league as a whole and Apple TV. I hope he doesn't become another Taylor Twellman, who won't even admit what team he spent his entire 100-goal MLS career with.

He actually speaks pretty often about the Revs, and also gives credit when it's due. From Saturday.

OK, fair enough... I just remember countless times when TT sidesteped his time with the Revs om the air.

Interesting that Tierney and Onalfo are the ones pushing for the young guys. We all know how much Bruce loves his vets. Let's hope these guys can keep it up and can Wally Pipp a few old goats like Jozy and Omar out of the team.

I took it as him crediting Onalfo and Tierney upgrading the Academy. Maybe they are also advocating for signing guys to pro contracts, but I'd guess that all comes down to guys proving it to Bruce on the training field.

FOX has it's first primetime game of the year when SEA goes to LAG.

Two of the four unbeaten teams square off when MIN travels to STL (LAFC and CIN are the other 2 without a loss).

All seven of Nashville's games this year have been a shut out for at least one of the clubs in the match.

Pretty crazy how they do this defense thing year after year. Us and Cinci are the 2 teams to score against them so far this year.
