Don't have access. What do they point out? Anyway that means that even if things work out they won't be that keen on his return.
It wasnt anything major like Ravel back in the day, just that he was problematic. Some highlights... - Running his mouth to other players and calling Ronaldo washed. - Late for training a lot and no show on several occasions, inlcuding no showing to the team hotel for the Everton game (Ole said he had a knock but he was really dropped for this reason) - Club has always had issues with his maturity and have really tried to protect him and even told Southgate on several occasions that he wasnt ready for a call up. - Throwing parties during Covid lockdown to the point where police reached out to United to get him under control - Threatened to join City Nothing crazy but different than the quiet and reserved elite prospect figure that the media and club painted prior to the rape allegations.
I think a reflection of the player culture today. Like what van Persie said about young kids at Arsenal driving home in sport cars while at United they hit the gym. The old adage was, be tough on talent. SAF and his staff would play bad cop and worse cop. I think that's gone at United, a point Cristiano made, but at least ten Hag made them run after that Brighton loss (and it worked only because he ran with them).
SAF may have set the tone, but guys like Keano carried it out. New players knew not to ******** around. Greenwood running in mouth in training would've ended with Keane either leaving him in a pile after a tackle or by taking him by the throat. I think the last of that mindset left with Rooney.
Am I thinking too much into this... His player profile is up and active on the official websites roster page. Im not sure if it was ever removed in the first place. Just seems kind of odd. Call me a scumbag but this guy would truly be like a new signing.
If fans are all in on ownership responsible for the deaths of thousands of migrant workers to build the World Farce, then there should be no qualms or complaints about bringing back Greenwood.
He owns up to it and make amends, what more can anyone ask? For me, he does that, he can play for this club again.
Yes, you're reading into that too much. It's been there this entire time (as confirmed by way back machine).
He’s scum and football shouldn’t be prioritized over what he did. Now that we have that out of the way, if he did comes back who knows why type of player we’re getting. He hasn’t trained with the team in over a year. He would get absolutely hammered from opposing fans. Even if we did decide to give him another chances, the hurdle he would have to clear is massive.
Cantona was out for about a year after his ban. Maybe apples and oranges given Cantona was much more established, but I felt he came back a more mature player and arguably enjoyed his finest season. Greenwood has a great deal of potential, but he has to face his demons and make no excuses for them.
The vast majority of football fans, whether supporters of United or not, agree they are a class organization. Why would the club risk that for this POS. He had potential, but he shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as Cantona. But if he steps on the pitch wearing the jersey, the image is tainted indefinitely.
Everyone should get a chance at redemption. Either way, can we get 20-30million for him ? Or we terminate his contract and he walks free?
Apparently we are looking to loan him to somewhere like Italy, Turkey, or Spain. This would be a clear indication that we’re planning on keeping him but we want to see how much heat we are going to get so we’re letting a loan club be our test dummy. It’s kind of genius in a scumbag sort of way.
Yeah, we also see his market value. Turkey would be a place he won't get as much abuse. The other two not so much. My question is more about our weekend him treatment currently? Are we getting her treatment? And if he goes on loan all the way out somewhere are we just loaning him out there with just her and no support system?
The United fan in me says I don't want a person like that in my club, or a club that supports such a person. The Christian in me says everyone deserves a second chance. The realist in me says the club won't risk anything if the player hasn't been prosecuted.
Italy would be a weird one. The players occasionally mark their faces with a lip stick as a call out against spousal abuse!
The realist in you should say, support what who you want. So what a couple people on this forum judge you or try and shame you for wanting Mason to play. Who cares what they think. Half of those guys voted for trump/brexit anyway. The other half are closet racist. .
This is one of the most stupid posts I've read on BigSoccer. So despite there being numerous POC in the premiere league you are saying that the dislike for Greenwood because of racism? Really? Let me get this straight. Greenwood made his debut with Man U in 2018 and played his first competitive match with them in 2019. From 2019 to 2022 this thread was very complementary of Greenwood saying he has a great future, he should be given more time, he's better than Rashford at his age, superstar in the making, etc. Then the rape/abuse scandal hits and people turn on him. You actually think it is about race? Was he not a POC from 2019-2022? Clearly he was and he was a fan favorite. Nothing changed other than the rape/abuse scandal but you think it is about race. FFS SMH.
ok Trump/brexit 50% Closet Racist 50% Those who don’t like Greenwood because he abused a woman 0% That’s what your post says. There are only two halves in a whole.
HEY EVERYONE, THIS GUY OVER HERE IS VERY VIRTUOUS! THE MOST VIRTUOUS OF VIRTUOUS PEOPLE EVER. COME SEE HIS VIRTUOUSITY!
