Yes, a cross from the right was "tackled" in the goal by a defender. It was a bizarre match with very few chances. For long stretches it looked as if both teams thought 0-0 was enough to reach the final. :coffee:

In the end Spain defeated Norway 2-1 with a late goal from bartel on 90+4.

    Final tournament top scorers:

    5 goals: Nicole Arcangeli (Italy)
3 goals: Sarah Mattner (Germany), Iris Omarsdottir (Norway).

Belgium, Lithuania and Belarus will host the next three editions.

    u-17 update:

Round 2 of the UEFA European Women's Under-19 Championship in spring, drawn on 7 December, will decide the seven teams joining hosts Estonia in the finals from 14 to 26 May, as well as promotion and relegation between the leagues. Seeding for the draw will be decided by league rankings from round 1 in the autumn.

League A consists of 28 teams, including the seven promoted from League B. The seven eventual group winners (plus the best runners-up if Estonia are in League A and win their group) will qualify for the finals. The teams finishing fourth will be relegated to League B for 2023/24 round 1.

Estonia will take part in round 2, though they are assured of a finals place as hosts.

    u-19 update:

The 2022/23 UEFA European Women's Under-19 Championship season has begun with round 1, with 11 of the 14 groups complete and the rest starting on Tuesday.

League A consists of 28 teams, including the eight promoted from League B after 2021/22 round 2 in the spring. The teams compete seven groups; from these single-venue mini-tournaments, the teams finishing fourth will be relegated to League B for 2022/23 round 2 in spring, with the other positions deciding seeding for League A in that round. Belgium will take part, although their finals place is assured as hosts.

The seven teams joining Belgium in the 2023 finals from 18 to 30 July will be decided by round 2 League A.

Italy's group looks good: of all of the pot 1 teams, Austria sure wasn't the most worrying one. :)

U-17's group looks hard for Italy, instead. Quite unbelievable to see France as a pot 2 team at youth level in Europe!

Bad draw for Norway at U19. How on earth have Germany managed to fall down to the second seeding pot?

Norway is hosting that group and have performed poorly. Our best player Signe Gaupset sits out this tournament through injury, but still.. First, a narrow 2-1 win against Croatia and then a 2-1 defeat to Ireland. I can’t see our girls beat Germany on Tuesday and qualify.

Sweden continue to underperform at U19-level. I’ve lost count how many times they’ve failed to qualify for Euros in recent years. They lost now to Iceland after an injury-time goal.
