Lol... looking at Bayern's final run of league matches, Hoffenheim at home feels like their only potential to drop any points. So, I think we might be looking at this game today crowning the new champions...

...and Potsdam's first win indeed came! Judging by her family name, I suppose De Filippo is of Italian descent?
I suppose it also but I only know that her parents were born in Montreal. Are you looking for players that can help Italy at the World Cup?
Finally watched the Bayern/Wolfsburg match. Good win for BM, but we’ll if maybe they’ve peaked too early instead of the next match bs Arsenal, WOB becoming more of an enigma, since why it’s not rotating such an huge roster, especially since Stroot got 3 of the best wingers world, yet refuses to start them or even use them as wingers? And why is Pajor still starting? She’s hasn’t scored since FeB 4th even though WOB’s offense is mainly based on getting the ball to their central striker. one main question I got is; there was an altercation about the 44th minute when after Lohmann got fouled, she ran over to Oberdorf, ready to fight. Wonder if anything came out of this after the game?
Magull pushed Oberdorf, Oberdorf and Magull got a yellow card and everything is okay. The Oberdorf foul could have been avoided if the referee had whistled earlier for the foul on the Wolfsburg player which happened 3 seconds before the Oberdorf foul on Lohmann.
Bayern looked pretty much the same as they've been for most of the season, and facing a rather underwhelming Wolfsburg, I really don't remember seeing this win ever needing Bayern to produce a peak performance... I mean... I think they played better Vs Arsenal mid week, with their match Vs Barca at home requiring far more effort than anything just witnessed against Wolfsburg.
I've stopped wasting energy on this topic lol, but I was highlighting many of these issues from very early this season; constantly talking about Wolfsburg gaining a stronger squad, but with a coach who's unfortunately incapable of making it work to create a better team. I find it especially strange watching him force Popp into every role BUT centrally as a FW, when last seasons Wolfsburg would basically use Roord very close/alongside Waßmuth, during a season Stroot appeared to be laying the foundations for a very dynamic new look Wolfsburg side. I'm still struggling to understand how Wolfsburg's general play looks worse now, when Stroot has access to a forward line featuring Brand, Blomqvist, SJJ, Pajor, Bremer, Roord, Popp, Huth, Waßmuth, ALL HEALTHY...
Oberdorf - Lohmann - Magull in the same 1st choice CM trio for the wnt... In my opinion, these 3 players are the perfect blend of quality and intensity, to form Germany's best CM trio. And I found it pretty amusing seeing Oberdorf and Lohmann go head to head, as I'm 100% convinced Lohmann knows she simply one good WC tournament away from being considered Oberdorf's equal aka one of the women's games very best...
A record television audience of 1.83 million (a market share of 10.4%) watched the Frauen Bundesliga match between @FCBfrauen & @VfL_Frauen on free German TV (ARD) on Saturday, won by a @StanwayGeorgia penalty, beating the previous record of 1.52 million from last season. #FCBWOB pic.twitter.com/sJXasorMdU— Asif Burhan (@AsifBurhan) March 27, 2023
LOL... save this. First and probably last time we'll see two Potsdam players featured within a best of list this season...
I was really talking about the play sequence where upon Rauch goes down, so Oberdorf excessively fouls Lohmann(possibly for retaliating for Rauch), whereby 3 Bayern players charge up at Oberdorf, who immediately falls to the ground. By diving, she possibly defused the situation but it also looks like she was trying to get a red card on Bayern player (s). And then the ref gives yellow’s to both both Oberdorf & Magull. So just wondering if the league officials reviewed after game—I believe like in my country(in any sport) most likely either the players involved or even the team would of been reprimanded with possible suspensions to follow. Germany loves Stanway!, even though she essentially was chased out of her own country for being a dirty player(actually started the sequences that i described by fouling Rauch—an German commentator already called her “a legend”) Viggo has become the top CB in the league—-I personally prefer Hendrich, but she don’t count since apparently Stroot don’t play her anymore at CB Kossler probably should of scored more, but notice—she’s now the starting striker, ahead of Billa(who lately been subbing)—who I feel now vindicated by calling her an very average or even slow poke-ish fwd, mostly scoring due the all the spoon fed from su h previous hard working better players/wingers that her club had. Odd that she was a former jr world kick boxing champion—-cuz her legs seem so heavy when she runs, though in all fairness she does have an accurate shot when she takes them
What did you see happening in this in type of situation, to warrant any such reactionary responses from the DFB..? The referee dealt with it, the players involved are perfectly fine physically, with nobody talking about this moment beyond the 2 mins it caused play to stop lol.
Clout will do that... but I still find it annoying seeing the narrative around Stanway trying to suggest she's significantly upgraded Bayern's offense, when their team actually scoring less goals compared to last season, with the biggest factor I see in their success right now clearly coming from them dealing with less injury/suspension. I don't rate GPV... but I recognize how much she's benefited from the new coach having a more defensive approach, where the CB's protected by two CM's sitting in front of them, instead of just the one.
Stroot's using Hendrich at RB now, because it's very obvious whenever watching games that Wilms simply isn't good enough when it comes to defending space within Wolfsburg's system. (she'll constantly be out of position, unable to recover balls played into the space she's departed to try and join the attack) I don't know why Stroot won't test Wolter in the RB role though, as she's a very versatile player who's more than capable of being a good RB. But I feel this subject of how Stroot uses players has been at the root of Wolfsburg's strange form this season...
I like Kössler's potential as a #9... but lets be real here, even if you don't like Billa, the reality still remains that she scored 23 goals in 2020/21... after getting herself 18 goals in 2019/20. This the type of modern goal return we'd only seen from Harder, Pajor, Sasic. Highlighting how much any forward doing this for Hoffenheim surely something to be considered as impressive, no? Not one German player since Sasic able to reach the 20 goal mark in league goals, with Kössler's peak so far only reaching 10 goals, in the same season Billa would still score 12. Even this season Billa still Hoffenheim's joint top scorer lol.
Not exactly how I'd describe a legendary performance from a legendary player lol... Good, but nothing spectacular when measured against peers in the same role.
Out of tomorrow's game:• Linda Dallmann (torn syndesmosis ligament)• Giulia Gwinn (torn cruciate ligament)• Carolin Simon (muscular problems)• Tainara (ankle problems)The injured players will also travel to London with the team as support.— Bayern Frauen (@miasanfrauen) March 28, 2023 Interesting thread... Straus believing his teams best performance this season happening in their last match Vs Wolfsburg...; the big piece of information I see here though, is knowing Simon won't be taking any part in the second match Vs Arsenal, but still named in the next wnt squad...
on the other hand I pretty much for warned what an dirty & sneaky player Stanway was before she joined Bayern, woso afficiendos know this & updated her highlights(with new Bundi action). Sad to see that woso's headed this way yeah, but for me Billa will always remind me of old Jim Carey/Vaniila Ice skit(in this case, superior German players 'carry' Billa, lol
