You'd think the federations would take the hint considering the lack of engagement national team games see. Maybe the answer isn't always "more".
It’s still popular in other continents but Europe is definitely not as as interested. That’s why I feel Nations league should include other continents. Giving Europeans more of what they don’t want is not the solution
Yeah, apparently the German broadcasters want to renegotiate their deal for the national team games because of a lack of interest. I love going to games more than watching them on tv by now. It feels so much better, makes TV kind of boring in comparison.
The gap in Europe is too much Portugal vs Lexumborg England vs Faroe Islands etc just not interesting they really should have a league with the best nts instead of this nonsense
Chelsea looking to move out of Stamford Bridge while it's being done up. Reportedly their first choice would be to use Twickenham as a temporary home. That's our national rugby stadium if you were not aware. 82,000 capacity
Can't imagine most of those records being broken any time soon. By the time some of them are even challenged what we watch now will seem like the black and white tv era by then.
I'm pretty sure more people watch England games than Arsenal games. But this is a club forum so its obviously not a good indicator on popularity of national team matches. Anyway, the European Club Association just signed a long-term agreement with FIFA. It confirms that the expanded club WC will exist in addition to the current CWC (not instead of it): FIFA signs renewed Memorandum of Understanding with ECA The Club WC. Now there's a competition that flies under the radar....
Actually, Harry Kane is on pace with where cr7 was at age 29 (55 goals). But Kane will probably leave the NT when he's no longer helping it, so won't have the same "longevity".

In all of South America or you mean fans of the club(s) participating? Because I couldn't help notice that there are still regular club matches taking place in South America and in Brazil on the same day and even same time as when Flamengo was playing their 2 CWC matches, and also during the CWC final itself (including big clubs based in the same city as Flamengo). And that's why the Club WC will never amount to much, imo. In terms of visibility, the best-case scenario is attracting the fan base of the clubs participating in it.
Catimba doesn't have much to do with violence. It's just all the tactics we know that players use to waste time when holding a result or trying to gain advantages like faking fouls and etc ... Also techniques to try and provoke your opponent to induce cards and take them out of their game psychologically. In English it's called gamesmanship. I guess you could include persistent little fouls as a form of it, but violent play is just violent play in itself.
Ok. That's a different meaning than I interpreted it to be and from that aspect, you're right. It's basically the fans from the clubs participating in it that have interest (and the rival fans hoping for them to lose).
Usually national team games are for free while club football is behind a pay wall. Put that dross on a subscription and ask me who pays to watch it. The fact that millions PAY every month to watch Arsenal play makes that more valuable.
Results wise, Nagel gotta be the most underwhelming Bayern coach since Van Gaal in 2011. RB won German Cup last season, Bayern got kicked out by Villarreal in CL. They even had Lewa then. And this season Nagel managed to create a proper title race in Bundesliga in 12 years as a Bayern manager. ❗️News #Nagelsmann: @SpursOfficial definitely interested! There has already been a casual request but no concrete talks or negotiations. Been told it’s unlikely that he will replace Conte immediately. He wants to take his time. #COYS @SkySportDE 🇩🇪 pic.twitter.com/EeTx6SZ7Qw— Florian Plettenberg (@Plettigoal) March 27, 2023 He should fit in well at Spurs though I suspect he's waiting for Chelsea to sack Potter.
If we dump Chelsea out of the CL, there is a strong chance they sack Potter and hire Nagel. IF Nagel is still available which I think he’ll wait for. Chelsea won’t have anything left I don’t think to play for other than 5th 6th place.
It wasn't the first proper title race in 12 years. Bayern only won the league by two points 4 years ago. And three years ago the title race was quite similar to the way it stands currently before Bayern pulled away at the end, something that was still a good possibility this season. That Villarreal defeat were the only points he dropped in CL in two seasons. Other than that, 16 for 16 in wins.
If the past would suggest anything, Nagelsmann is going to be on wages until he finds a new job or his contract runs out. I haven't heard specifics for this case, but I remember them putting Carlo on extended leave and paying him, the play is obviously that a coach might want to work again and have his contract terminated but Carlo was out until his Bayern contract was over. There was speculation in German newspapers that they'd even ask for a fee to let Nagelsmann join a different club. Kind of mad.
We are one of the most celebrated teams across globe probably along with brazil , the fans we have in asian countries are humongous. Probably the first time the WC victory of a south american country is celebrated across globe in such large mass. This feat can never even replicated from european countries.
