i peeped the highlights. yaser actually looked really good out there and it looked like there was poor finishing from our players from clear chances for goals. oh well, its a friendly.
I asked my nephew in Colombia to share his screen in a zoom call to watch the game. I can tell you we played fast, had good moves as a team while Wales just parked the bus and out of the sudden our players kind of remembered that they are Colombians
The sub 20 plays Sweden in an hour. If I find a link, I'll post it. I humbly request that ya'll do the same.
nope, colombia only if you google caracol stream on google you will find a stream, I found one for the korea game. today, im going to the beach so ill probably miss it. This does seem like a stronger lineup though
Thank you, sirs. If my American-based friends are interested, I tend to download a VPN to watch Caracol. Delete it right afterward. Not sure if this is risky for your comp, but it tends to work fine for me. https://www.urban-vpn.com/locations/colombia-vpn/
Seems like Castilla is playing LB? Interesting... Excited to see Mejia. I hope they give Quintero at least a solid half.
Muy imprecisos y no entiendo por qué siempre tienen que pasarsela al arquero, en teoria, este equipo es superior a Suecia tecnicamente, sin demeritar a los suecos que tienen muy buenos jugadores.
The first 15 minutes were AWFUL...and that was partly a product of playing 4222. This is why we never play with 2 strikers. No passing lanes. And that lead to a lot of stupid passing in our own box. Switching to 4231 helped a lot. Of course, Cardenas is the only coach in the world who would put Angel on the right instead of Mejia, who actually plays that position. To his credit though, Angel showed a lot of poise. When he got it, his ability to hold on to the ball allowed the team to actually get into attacking positions. I love Castilla, and he showed he's a pretty decent crosser. But he does not have the pace to play LB. Never want to see the Luis Diaz kid again. Pure carroloco.
Yaser looked a lot bigger than the last time I saw him. I know next to his championship opponents he still looks small but I feel he's picked up size.
0-0. Frustrating match. Reminding myself that it's just a friendly, there are important things to take away. I just don't have enough faith in Cardenas as a coach to recognize them. -Most importantly, these kids Diaz and Leyner Palacios have no business on this squad. The best thing Cardenas had going for him was his avoidance of these dime-a-dozen fast little kids that Colombia produces endlessly. No reason to bring them in now. -Cabezas reverted to exactly the player he was in the 1st round of the Sudamericano. A kid who will not take the shot, overdribbles, and does stupid spin moves to lose the ball. As good as he was in some matches, the kid is NOT reliable. -Luis Quintero is exciting. It's a damn shame he's gotten as little minutes as he has. It'll be a bigger shame if he doesn't get called to the WC. And it'll be the biggest shame if he ends up choosing Spain because of all that.
Yaser is just simply amazing when it comes to many subtle things. One of them is how he can drop a pass perfectly to a teammate all the way across the field. Switching play like that is just beautiful to watch.
As it currently stands odds are in his favor, especially if he plays well in the sub20 WC. That along with the inconsistency of our creative players being healthy and available at the same time.
He has a better all- around game than Quinterito and can be more energetic. Just needs to keep on developing and gain some confidence.
Excellent point. Whoever is advising him needs to get that into his head - this tournament is his ticket out of Watford to somewhere he can play every week, if he takes it serious. I would have loved for Watford to work out, Elton John and all who wouldn't!, but between I've lost count how many managers he's had and the inactivity it's about as wrong a situation as you could have for a wonder talent like him.
