By the way our friend Lahoz was back at work in Spain today destroying the Barca Espanyol match with his nonsensical interpretation of the rules.
His reactions and inability to control a match are incredibly poor.
This guy must be given a lifetime ban.
As for our Oranje lads on display Frenkie got around 80 minutes while Memphis rode the bench while lesser talented Ferran Torres played the entire match, and the massively overrated Raphinha and Dembele shared the minutes from the right.
Memphis needs a positive move now.
Xavi is a poor Manager too.

So this is the last thing I'm gonna say about the whole Messi saga.
The dumbo ears he did was to mock vGaal.

Supposedly Messi didnt like how Riquelme was treated when at Barca.
It was however about 20 years ago that Riquelme played under vGaal.
What find of f*cking idiot holds a grudge that long??!! o_O

Riquelme played for Barca for a couple of years, and didnt exactly set the world on fire.
He was loaned out to Villarreal who in turn loaned him back out to Boca Juniors.
I dont remember much about Riquelme, but if Villarreal loans you out then you're probably not that good.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juan_Román_Riquelme

So its not vGaal's fault, its the players fault.

Like I said before, I lost all respect for Messi and Argentina.
Payback to come at future world cups :sneaky:

Riquelme had trouble with all the managers he played for in Spain. He came to Barca and van Gaal did not want him. When Barca signed Ronaldinho, that was curtains and he moved to Villareal. He had one great season when they made it to the semis of the Champions League. He was never quick enough to play at the tempo the league was moving to and that's major reason he returned to Argentina. He was a great passer of the ball.

EDIT: the year they made it to the semifinals, Barca won it all over Arsenal. Rijkaard was the manager and van Bronckhorst and van Bommel both were starters. Messi did not play in the final match as he was injured.

I mentioned this after it happened and you liked it. Lol.
For the Messi and the crazed Argentina supporters though they are not very objective in their hate of Van Gaal.
Anyway I follow a Twitter site on Dutch Football that I highly recommend called FootballOrange, and I got into some honest debate with some crazed Argentina supporters who obviously just blamed the Corrupted Lahoz match on Oranje, and most of them killed LVG calling him a racist and the problems he had with Riquelme and basically every South American player was because of his bias.
Just ridiculous in itself, but when that stupid picture was brought up with Messi and then Riquelme the whole thing just got out of hand despite my detailed and fact based comments to set the record straight.
I tried but it’s really absurd that they think of LVG as a racist etc.
I don’t like LVG and I’ve made my points about his past mistakes regarding his failure of 2002 and player selections & tactics etc., but I could not take reading these comments and outright lies about the man.
Bottom line is if any of that was true he would never, ever, have worked for the renowned clubs and Oranje on 3 occasions, and that was my final point on this stupidity.

Yes, this seems correct with this time distance.
Four penalties and the hand of Messi. Also, Paredes could be sanctioned when he hit the ball towards Dutch bench. The cleanest examples of aid. I don't want to include the moments where they have chased every referee, potential sanctions because of diving. Should they get the yellow card because of diving. But, also Netherlands and France had a chance to win with penalties.
Have these two teams missed their penalties intentionally? Argentina had nice help, but also it wasn't everything in their hands. Their opponents also had a chance to win. Especially, because of penalties at the end. Imagine if that French player scored the clean chance at the end of extra time? Di Maria also dived against Udinese, when he played for Juventus.:D

    https://www.world-today-news.com/in...sia-bought-all-matches-at-the-2018-world-cup/

“They pulled us by the ears at the World Cup. Besides, who did we play with there? With Uruguay, who took us out. With the Spaniards, who played in an incomprehensible way. It was a very strange match. Believe me, in time this will come out foam. Why support Cherchesov? For buying everyone at the World Cup? Buying all the games. Don’t you know? Do you think the King of Spain just came like that?”

    1998 World Cup was similar.

    https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/6318596/world-cup-france-brazil-fixed-michel-platini/

Netherlands and Croatia lost intentionally? Bribery?

    https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...ni-world-cup-1998-brazil-france-draw-trickery

"Michel Platini, the former Uefa president, has claimed “a little trickery” was used in the 1998 World Cup draw to increase the chances of France and Brazil meeting in the final."

"Brazil were placed in Group A, as was the standard practice at the time for the defending champions. France, the hosts, were then allocated to Group C – meaning if both seeded teams won their groups they could not meet before the final."

"France-Brazil in the final, it was the dream of everyone,” Platini told the radio station France Bleu Sport, in an interview to be broadcast in full on Sunday."

The same was now also. Messi, Ronaldo, Mbappe (Benzema), Neymar could only meet in semi-finals.:D And all four were in the jingle of FIFA: Football unites the world. Benzema, not Mbappe.

LVG racist? He has Davids as his assitant, many players that he invited has Surinamese, Antillean origins.:p You can dislike LVG, but Netherlands doesn't have better coach. Koeman has quality, but he has sometimes strange principles, where players turn against him. Example, Barcelona.:D
Frank de Boer far from coaching quality. Hiddink is just old now. Ten Cate? Older now. Just like Advocaat.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Dutch_football_managers

    Hasselbaink is avaliable.

Van Gaal and Ten Hag are the best in this year.

Van Nistelrooy has the potential in PSV.

Many of them rather took some exotic destinations.:p

Wouters and Stam are the examples of coaching decline. They had good clubs and everything collapsed.

Riquelme was a very talented player. But, he didn't flourished so much in Barcelona. His last pass was great. He was better in Villarreal. Bad side is that he played in era of Veron, Cambiasso, Aimar, Maxi Rodriguez...not much of space.

I’m not saying LVG is racist.
That was from these Argentina supporters on this Twitter site I was on.
I am no fan of Van Gaal but this criticism and hate towards him is completely untrue and i made that point to defend him.

  9. I just read in the Argentine worldcup thread an Argi fan posting about the next decade of triumphs for Argentina and how the Argi haters will be pissed.
    Looking at .....:cautious:

I’m very very surprised how Portugal decided to appoint Martinez as their head coach. After ruining the Belgium golden generation, it now the turn for the Portuguese

    Pretty harsh analysis.
Bottom line is that it’s very hard to win in International Football.
I believe the truth about Belgium is that they were slightly overrated.
They lacked a top class defender after Kompany hung up his boots.
    Martinez had a good run.
Must say I’m shocked he had CR7 playing for Portugal still.
He’s got to be impossible to handle or deal with, and I’m sure he younger teammates have there issues with him.

I wasn't exactly thrilled with the appointment but ruining the Belgium Golden Generation? He brought them to their best performance ever - 3rd place at the World Cup. How in the world is that ruining them?

As stated, I wasn't exactly thrilled with the appointment but I do take solace in the fact that a lot of criticism against the man is beyond unfounded, as your post demonstrates, and downright nonsensical.

3rd Place at the World Cup is right in-line with what Belgium's "Golden Generation" could do. I'd say Martinez actually delivered them what their talent deserves. That generation of players was so insanely overrated it's perplexing - so highly touted they were yet, how many of those players were winning Champions Leagues? Literally ZERO of Belgium's Starting XI vs. France had won the Champions League in 2018 - and it wasn't until years later until any of them had (and only Courtois was important in the achievement).

Outside of Courtois in the last Champions League, Belgian players have been literal losers in the competition - having no major impact. They can't do it at the club level and we're supposed to expect them to do it the national team level? Anyone that highly touted them or expected their level to be tournament champions was very wrong.

May sound like a nonfactor but take a look at any national team that's won a major tournament in recent history and you'll see that Champions League pedigree is a clear correlative.

He is not that sort as the reference you cite says he is 169cm and I've seen another that says he is 173. Having watched a number of Leeds matches this year he is the same height as Summerville as I've seen them on the pitch together.

There are multiple websites that list his height from 165 - 172cm. You can pick one and I can pick one but until we are in the room when he is getting measured, it's all conjecture. It's also laughable that many of these sites cannot even convert from cm to inches as the English measurements do not correspond to the metric ones.
