I just wonder where Nagelsmann goes to next. Apparently he has warm feelings for Tottenham, though I’m not really sure what that means lol. That would be a very similar job to Leipzig, I could see that being a decent move. Nagelsmann speaks fluent English. If Liverpool is smart, they move on from Klopp and give Nagelsmann a chance. The Klopp era is over, they just need to accept it. Dare I say, Chelsea? Can’t see him going anywhere in Germany, not right now at least. Only PSG could get him in France, but he couldn’t get Bayern to gel, so I don’t see why PSG would want him (unless they just want another big name). Italy… maybe Juventus? They are paying for like three coaches right now though. So that might be hard to make work financially. Maybe Real Madrid looks at him if Ancelotti is fired? Edit; holy shit, this is out of left field. But how about… the US!!!!! This is half joking, but he speaks English, has a style that fits our players, and maybe after such a hot start to his career (he’s still in his 30’s) he takes it easy for three years, lives in the US, maybe consults a little here and there for club teams. It won’t happen, but this is a dude the USSF should make a hard run at. What future director would say no to Nagelsmann? Look at what he’s done for guys like Davies and Musiala.
You've seen ski slopes @RapSheet, but have you seen coach @RapSheet? We'll be in Cary, North Carolina in June! See you there @TST7v7 👊🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/Dqh2MdVwLt— Borussia Dortmund (@BlackYellow) March 28, 2023 Looks like we missed the chance of being THE yellow team at The Soccer Tournament. I think this event is going to be fun, but we'll see.
The man who knowledgeble Chelsea fans and soccer experts once hailed as "better than a continental retread" sacked after just 9 months. Incredibly well run club. Please god, give Enzo Fernandez a proper manager, if not a competent club.
Former Valencia right back Bruno Saltor is now interim coach at Chelsea. My god lol. I hope he’s a better coach than player. Classic hard worker that had subpar skills but made up for it with grit and hustle. Very Will Sandsesque.
Bayern is out of the German Cup, losing 2-1 at home to SC Freiburg on a penalty in added time. Next coach!
The Chelsea-Liverpool was a horribly played and officiated game, yet was pretty entertaining for a 0-0 result.
Yep, been there for a bit now. Everyone watching Valencia this year probably wishes they were blind too.
Huge win for lifelong Wrexham fans like myself, with a 3-2 victory this morning against Notts County. 7 points from the final 4 games would see Wrexham promoted to the English Football League Two. The Red Dragons are on closing in on promotion.
Maybe among Wrexham's most impressive accomplishments is a relentless media campaign that has made many think that Wrexham winning promotion is a more compelling story than their primary rivals, Notts County, who have a legitimate claim to being the oldest football club in the world. The power of Hollywood. That said, lore has it that the black and white stripes of Juventus were inspired by Notts County. Juve Merda.
I’m just gonna go ahead and say what needs to be said, Upamecano sucks. He was way overrated at Leipzig, peaked early, went to Bayern, and hasn’t got any better. He’s not a Bayern player. I’m not just saying it because of today, it’s been this way for a while now.
Yeah, today was a particularly bad day in front of the whole world basically, but my point is he’s been doing stuff like this ever since he got to Bayern. It’s time people stop talking about him like he’s the next great CB.
Chelsea lost again. They are now closer to relegation than they are to Europe. But at least they "won the transfer window."
Devastating tie this morning for Dortmund with a chance to pull even with Bayern. Up a man and two goals, they gave up two. Reyna looked to have the game winner in the 92nd, and they game up a last second goal. Was really hoping to have someone knock Bayern off the top of the Bundesliga for the first time since 2012.
Benfica doing their best to piss away Liga Bwin is thwarting my enjoyment too. Crew better win tonight. Hold me, DnD.
Musah playing on the right in a 4-4-2 for Valencia tonight v Sevilla. The new coach, former Valencia player and captain Ruben Baraja, hasn’t played him as often as Gattuso did, and very rarely as a CM. Under Gattuso, Musah was the main creative force for Valencia, now he’s just a dude. I think he’ll leave this summer.
Musah had one highlight in the first half. He had a free header at the near post, and… well… his header was closer to being a throw in than on target.
