If we are changing FB's, my unlikely preference would be Nuno Mendes from PSG, not happening i know, but i think a balanced player in terms of attacking and capable defence, and just starting his journey at the highest level
Great talent but we need to focus on the right. We at least have Fran and Alaba there for now. In regards to Bellingham, I think the club doesn’t seem to care much for depth at a position and is instead focusing on signing the top tier young talents. And to a great extent that’s the wise strategy. You can never anticipate who wants to leave any particular summer or injuries or or or.
Three interesting players whose contracts run out in 2024: - Saka, although he is close to extending his current deal to 2028. If he wants a move to Madrid and doesn’t renew for that reason I’d pull the trigger this summer no questions asked. Best RW option on the market. - Nico Williams, still a raw player but if he was available for cheap if he isn’t renewing then I’d take a gamble, at worst he becomes a depth player in the future for cheap. - Kyle Walker, no idea if City would let him go for cheap after losing Cancelo, or if he wants to leave, but this would be a good stop gap solution on a short term contract for us possibly.
Athletic Bilbao players won't risk their life to move to Real Madrid. Especially not for free. Llorente wanted that for himself and they forced him out of the sport.
Telephone tapping carried out reveals that as early as March 2022, a verbal agreement was reached for the extension of Kylian Mbappé's contract at PSG, as revealed by Daniel Riolo.— @RMCsport pic.twitter.com/jedzODygue— Madrid Universal (@MadridUniversal) March 24, 2023
I’d say in usual circumstances buying Nico this summer (bearing in mind he’s got a €50m release clause as it is) and selling Brahim Diaz would mean a net impact that won’t be very significant. To me Nico looks to have a higher ceiling. Chances are Bilbao would just say no to any offer and point at the release clause though.
Yeah, we’ve seen these super aggressive tactics to buyout clauses from Bilbao before. Would be an interesting option if it was possible. The player that would move the needle though is Saka, quick, agile, left footed, a hard worker with the right attitude.
What ends up happening is players end up severely stagnating and disappearing into obscurity like Muniain did.
Sorry, but no. Ronaldo is a superstar. If Saka is a superstar we're running out of superlatives for the stars of the sport.
Unless there is a change of coach, and that change is not ZZ, i believe Ferland will remain our LB, as for RB James would be perfect but we won't get him, won't be a popular idea as not a super star name but Foyth has impressed me everytime i've watched him play, solid defensively and attacks well, shouldn't cost an exorbitant fee either, but may be accused of being an Arsenal level player
Mentioned him just a few pages back, he's like a right footed Gvardiol that would come much cheaper and is also Spanish.
