its a south american thing, im pretty sure. Nothing personal though, would have happened with literally anyone.

they get heated in the moment and then you never know what'll happen, we don't have the best mentality either

Didn't get to watch the game but just watched highlights and reading about it.
Below accurate for those who watched it?
In the highlight it did seem Son had lots of touches and room to run and focus on offense but can't really know for sure in an 8 min highlight...

Well one issue is, if we want to support Son with midfielders so we can relieve him from defense duties, LKI wont start under Kilnsmann either.

Also, KMJ wasnt that great. He could've done better in both situations where we conceded.

Lee Kang-in should start since guys like Jeong Woo-young ain't cutting it at CAM or on either sides of the wings, and Lee Jae-sung can't do everything on his own.

It's too bad Yang Hyun-jun is injured and Hwang Hee-chan is so injury prone. We'll have to wait till Hong Hyun-seok gets called up after his run with Hwang Sun-hong.

I personally like the idea of HHC starting on the right, to give contrast with Son who cuts inside. What about LKI starting instead of HIB?

Well w/ current formation, unless we play LKI on the side, we wont see him starting if we want to free SHM from defense duties. Hopefully Klinsmann will try some new formations to start LKI.

Then SHM will need to help with the defense and he wont be in CAM position. I doubt HIB will get dropped.

IMO, the best we can do is to move SHM back to the side and let LKI start in CAM.

    CGS
    SHM-LKI-HHC/YHJ
    HIB-BSH
    KJS-KMJ-KYG-KTH
    JHW

    OR

We can try SHM top.. our strikers are not so amazing that we cant drop them anyway.

Against most Asian teams or simply anytime Korea is the favorite to win, I'd go 4-4-2, with LKI as the left winger. Son partners a big striker, and HHC is on the right. For extra attacking potential, LLJS can be the box-to-box midfielder.

I know he used both the 4-3-3 and 4-3-1-2 with the usmnt, I want to see how we fare under those two formations because we have to mold it off of Lee Kang-in as a CAM rather than a winger.

Also, Oh Hyeon-gyu should start instead of Cho Gue-sung and Hwang Ui-jo.

He was better today but too early to say he needs to start ahead of them. He still needs to improve a lot of things.. you can see he's not a starter yet when you watch his league matches.

Bad idea to start LKI on the side tbh. He was forced to play on the side in Valencia and it didnt turn out well.

Cho Gue-sung is overrated and currently out of form, he reminds me of triple shite. Oh at least has the physicality and speed to go head to head with defenders, plus he's decent on the ball as well. With both Cho Gue-sung and Hwang Ui-jo out of form, starting Oh Hyeon-gyu is the only option we've got until guys like Kang Seong-jin step up or Joo Min-kyu finally gets called up. Hong Hyun-seok also started as a fw at Genk, but I'm not sure if it's worth the go.

I'd rather put SHM at the top then

me as well. Opens up a spot for LKI and those 2 need real mins on pitch together to build chemistry.

KMJ was thoroughly disappointing today and up top, yes unfortunately our Celtic Bhoy the only one being close to in form. I'm glad CGS decided not to go to EU too early.

As a lone striker no, maybe as a pair which is why I suggested Klinsmann should try his 4-3-1-2.

Hwang In-beom got some massive balls, the way he bossed it on the pitch but also stood up for his teammates was a reminiscent of Kim Nam-il. I wouldn't want him to pull an 을용타 though since getting red carded during friendlies is really unnecessary.

4-3-1-2 against big teams will never end up well for us. Besides, we have too many good wingers to use that formation.

I must admit reading that is quite good (such things weren't put in the extended highlights I saw). As for 을용타, he can save that mode for the World Cup. Plenty of nasty players think Koreans can be bullied.

On paper, possession/offensive minded which is a plus. But physically not there in the midfield. The players pressed a lot, but I feel like the kind of pressing might make the players gas out and leave openings. Like Paik but maybe is not the answer to the double pivot, hopefully I’m wrong though. Would like to see LSW again, maybe off the bench to provide the spark like he did in his first game this season for Suwon

Pressing is a strategic asset of sorts. Doing it for 90 minutes is only possible if players are selected based on their stamina, ignoring technical ability whatsoever. In reality, Korea, like anyone else, will have to press at times, and then take a rest period.

That's why it's amazing and unbelievable how our 2002 team was able to do it every game.
