Anyway, I bolted over there, about 4 minutes away, getting ready to kick the shit out of the guy (I was 20 years old at the time). By the time I had gotten there, he had already run out. She was OK, but we were both like, "WTF"? After a : Awhile of talking through it, we were kind of mystified that: A - That even happened, and B: WTF makes someone want to do that/ get off on that??

 

And as I was about to apologize for getting off topic, I realized that this is a thread about Tommy Thompson!

Anyway, I have a wife, two daughters, a sister, etc., and any time I think about what happened to one of our B.S. family at a place where we should all be safe, really pisses me off and makes me wonder WTF!?!

The Landon Donovan anecdote reminds me of my college days when I would pee in the bushes on an un-lit and unpaved University City, MO alley way, walking home from campus parties after midnight, relieving myself of the after-effects of a night's drinking. (As far as I know no one ever saw me pee (aside from an occasional co-conspirator), let alone got a glimpse of my equipment in the dark.)

A year ago, when I last visited St. Louis, the alleyway had been gentrified, with a wide paved sidewalk and periodic light posts and crime call boxes, and the shrubbery removed or neatly trimmed. (So sad.) One of the stately old Tudor-style brick homes whose backyard abuts the alley way was for sale for $600k (a 3-5 million-plus home if in the Bay Area). I loved the idea of living where I had previously done my business and would not have minded if the tradition continued. I would have shot out the nearest light post so the college kids could continue to pee in peace in the cover of darkness.

But if I lived there I wouldn't have been able to attend Quakes games. So I didn't buy the house and the St. Louis college kids will therefore continue to suffer their sanitized 21st century existence.

 

It's okay if they throw it at you in baggies though...

I had an incident in Downtown K.C. Mo where a cop witnessed me peeing in the snow, on the side of a building at the corner of Main and Linwood at 11:35pm, from behind, about 30yds away in his cruiser and I ended up getting picked up by my father at the police station with a citation that specifically stated my act "exposed my penis to public view".

The lot was unlit but that did not stop him from writing BS on a citation that I fought (well my dad did) and ended up going to court twice before a judge asked the cop if he witnessed what he wrote, to which the cop said no.

Tommy better be on the lookout. Hopefully, if he gets a phishing attack, it will be en espanol.

 

The expectations he had as a player and the hype he had he was touted as the second coming of Pele you'd assume reading the posts here.

He was never a consistent starter year after year, and playing 10+ years for a team that made hardly any moves and kept an off budget player is likely why, and when it comes down to it, he really never fit into anyones plans. He didnt' pan out to be the guy he was once perceived to become. He's a guy who is a good company yes man. He will never be remembered in MLS outside of the San Jose circles as the first home grown. Our home growns have done better on other teams then the ones we keep which is quite ironic.

Sac Republic weren't interested in Tommy Thompson and haven't been. They have far superior players in the positions he plays. I bet if anything if he ends up back east if he doesn't return here. Indy 11. If he wants to continue his MLS career, he'd probably have an honest shot with Columbus, Austin, St Louis or even LAFC again.

 

I also know he wasn't because my stupid ass was sleeping with one of their players for 2 months. He came into Sacramento trained for a week and wasn't asked back so he went down to LA to give that a shot and had a real shot to sign, but they didnt' come to an agreement. I think a couple others here can confirm that who speak to folks who are LAFC try hards. He also slide into the DM's of one of those try hard capo girls for the 3252 and she shared the screen shots in 'Fems for MLS' women's MLS private facebook group.

And before any of you fat men ask, its mostly women sharing photos of their kids at the games and shit and a bunch of yabber jabber about whos hot and whos not and very little tactics. I hate that group but i like the gossip
