The Fire take their juggernaut to South Florida, playing the weird team in Miami. Well, everything is weird in South Florida Last week, the Fire had a nice game for 46 minutes, but ended up giving up two late goals to "earn" an amazing draw. Torres, Shaqiri and Navarro are out for the game. Miguel Navarro out on International Duty. He actually started against Saudi Arabia today. We'll see if plays against mighty Usbekistan. Miami have a decent team, with a couple of recognizable players: Josef Martinez (NOT a DP), Rodolfo Pizarro and DeAndre Yellin. They also have young forward Leonardo Compara (YDP), who was excellent last season while on loan, in every way our Young DP Torres was not (scoring 11 goals and 2 assists in 1600 minutes). By the way, Martinez is with Navarro in Saudi Arabia on international duty, scoring in today's match, so we don't have to worry about at the game. Gone are a number of the big known names: Higuain, Brek Shea, former England International Kieran Gibbs, and (surprisingly) Joevin Jones (who is currently a free agent). The Fire are finally playing a game in appropriate weather. 83 degrees and partly sunny tomorrow, 6% of rain. Miami have 6 points from 4 games, winning both home games and losing both road games. The Fire have a blistering 2 points from 3 games, winning none of their home games or road game. All time, the Fire are 2-1-1 against the team not called the "Heat" From the Fire's website, here is the list of pubs showing the match tomorrow: Saturday, March 25 - 6:30 p.m. CT Gather with fellow Fire fans at these locations around Chicago: The Embassy Public House - 1435 W. Now THAT is a great poll. That said, I should be at the Embassy if anyone has difficulties watching the game.
I gotta watch the movie "Columbus" for an assignment tomorrow. It's not even set in Ohio, there's a Columbus in central Indiana. That's where it's set. Anyway, the Fire make all the optimistic people excited by squeaking out a win, but it's just a mirage. Oh, also it's Miami who's gotta be more worried about fielding a full XI. They've got international call-ups and even more injuries than us.
I remember speculation that the team would be called Miami Beckham United for awhile, and was hopeful someone would’ve had a dumber name than us and the Crew. Not that Inter Miami CF is far off, of course, but damn if they’re colors aren’t great. Anyway, we are going to kick the Fusion’s ass, or the Herons, or whatever anyone is calling them until they became the 10 guys that aren’t Messi this fall. Then they’ll probably beat us I’m still rooting for Kacpar, so him and Guti and Souquet (dude has to contribute something and it certainly ain’t looking like defense) score our 3 goals this week and we keep a clean sheet on the road to give us hope until our next late minute collapse guts us all over again.
never seen the movie but it’s about the architecture, which is definitely cool and with a stop if you’re in the area and architecture is your thing
I'm watching it for a "comparative script analysis" assignment in my screenwriting class because my professor keeps telling me that my script is so similar to it. But then I looked it up and saw that the director basically just wanted to make a Yasujiro Ozu film, so that makes sense with my own style. Don't know if I should be watching it before or after the game. Cause watching it before means I'll have time that night to actually do the assignment, but watching after means I'll already be sad and ready for a slow-moving dialogue-driven movie.
OK I have a rib eye steak coming up to room temperature and going to get the cast iron skillet treatment, a fresh pack of El Milagro tortillas (finally found a Kentucky source!), some fresh home made red salsa from a combination of Arbol, New Mexico and Guajillo peppers and have a 6 pack of West 6th "Pennyrile Ale" for this game. I was at the opener but spent a few weeks on tour living in a van so only saw the highlghts but I have the Apple hookup and am ready. I *think* the Fire are going to surprise with a win tonight. They've been looking decent but just "same old Fire-ing" the ends of games. A breakthrough is due. Apple TV question: Occasionally I try to maintain "The Bubble" when I can't see the game in real time and Apple TV apparently has ZERO clue this is a "THING" people do with the Footy because not only can I NOT find the button to watch the entire REPLAY but I literally can not do anything on the Apple TV app without seeing the final score posted EVERYWHERE! Who in the f**k thought that was a good idea? So, not only do I have to even have the highlight final score surprise ruined by Apple but literally CANNOT FIND HOW TO WATCH A FULL GAME REPLAY? Anyone out there know how to do that? Disappointing.
It is nonintuitive, in that the Recap is defaulted at the top landing page…you have to scroll to the bottom of a specific game and click ‘versions’ and then pick the ‘90min game’
On a ROKU TV (which is what I'm using) I see the game in question in "PAST MATCHES" and I click on the game icon (with the score posted). 1) When I click on any game I see a graphic pop up with the final score first of all. I am encountered with a button that says "RESUME" (which activates a 7 minute highlight) and button that says "+ Add to UP NEXT" which apparently adds the highlight to some queue somewhere. That is it. No other options available. No full replay button. No 90 minute version to choose from. ??? When a click on the team ICON Then click on the GAME ICON I get the same thing, a highlight. If I go down to the bottom and click on the "SEASON PASS" icon I still can only get a highlight. I have been all over this thing. I'm not sure why there wouldn't be a FULL GAME REPLAY anywhere among the highlights, previews and whatever? It sux. EDIT: OK I went back and saw that on a remote you have to PRESS AND HOLD to get both options. I did finally find it. I guess I'm going to have to teach my wife how to find me the game so I can watch the replay and still maintain my bubble. LOL. Dumb. The type for that important piece of information is barely legible for a 53 year old guy from across the room at half the font size and half the brightness opacity of everything else on that thing.
I have the AppleTV hardware and I still can’t find the full game replay option…. Yes, I work in tech.
"How to Watch" at the bottom. At least that's how it is on the browser version. It's stupid how the default is just "highlights".
It's the same on the app...see screen shot above. It's also stupid that it doesn't prompt you, it just defaults to where you were or the highlights and you have to monkey around to get to How to Watch.
Lineup announced, 4-2-3-1 with Dean at LB & Herbers at the 8. ..................Przybylko .....Mueller......Guti.....MHS ..........Gimenez..Herbers Dean...Czichos..Teran..Souquet ......................Brady
Ugly, but (sadly) we have seen worse teams over the past few years. Fire win 2-1, with goals by Przybyłko and Gutierrez
Anybody else notice the dead air since it switched from the pregame360? Really weird seeing lineups and the precession with no analyst chatter. Is there a setting to turn on commentary? lol
So far, as the teams are coming out onto the field, Apple TV has decided to forgo announcers. Just crowd noise. Considering the "quality" of most MLS announcers, it could make a pleasant change. Edit: jinx!
Watching from south haven Michigan. Soquet needs to step up, he’s been dissapointing. 1-1 draw is my prediction.
Finished watching it. Probably gonna write the paper during the game. Really loved the atmospheric experience with the announcers not being heard at all.
Nice to see Mueller playing D...trakcing the overlap all the way to the back line. Souquet makes me nervous every time he is called on to do something.
The lack of jersey sponsor is a bit distracting. At least put 'Fire' on the jersey or something. Or, of course, call our friends at Jeppson's.
