I really don't get the "ignoring." De la Torre was called in by Berhalter about a year ago -- in the March 2021 friendlies -- when 99% of fans had basically forgotten the guy existed. He also has been called into a WCQ camp with very little experience with the national team. Has he gotten a ton of time? No. He has gotten two camps and Berhalter has chosen players to play over him for those games. Is it possible that Berhalter is wrong? Sure. Lletget and Roldan haven't been great for the US. Luca did make a couple of nice passes late in friendlies, including an assist ... to Sebastian Lletget (remember, that goal doesn't count because it was a Jamaica friendly we won 4-0). But still, I can totally get both "Luca de la Torre should play more going forward" and even "We should have played Luca de la Torre in the Panama game" even though there's a bit of hindsight there since the insertion of Lletget in his last game; the Honduras game was one of a number of actions that turned that game around. What I don't really get is "Berhalter ignored Luca de la Torre." This just reeks of the Musah thing, where Berhalter and staff, found Musah, recruited him, then weirdly get accused of slow-playing him simply because they didn't play him in two games in Nations League. Very few, if any, remembered that de la Torre was still in the pool, and I don't remember big calls for him back in March of 2021. He's not being ignored. He's just not getting a ton of minutes, whether because he's getting beat in camp or his skillset doesn't fit or because Berhalter is making a bad choice. All are possible. But ignored? No.
Musah is well ahead of Lletget now, no one can deny that... I hope you're right that Lletget is also clearly behind Busio... and hopefully if both Lletget and de la Torre are called in for these games, LDLT is the one who gets more minutes of the two... we shall see.
This is my favorite kind of thread which we see all too much of these days, here and on twitter. How can this guy play? What the hell does the coach see in him? It conveniently ignores all the reasons why a guy would get onto the field. It conveniently ignores the fact that people are raging at their screens and have absolutely zero insight into the group, into the training, into the thinking of the coach and training and performance staff. Lleget has played poorly, sure, but has also done well in the moments he's been given and, if you look back at his game history for the USMNT, has scored some big goals and made some big plays. Oh, but please tell us more about why he's not even fit to play on your pub team.
Lletget update Becky G is trending after her fiancé Sebastián Lletget was accused of being unfaithful to the singer two months after they got engaged. pic.twitter.com/0hUklcFsfv— Pop Crave (@PopCrave) March 23, 2023 Sebastián Lletget has *allegedly* cheated on Becky G. The couple just got engaged recently.Lletget lost his spot in the USMNT, got bounced around by teams in MLS, and now about to lose Becky G is just over a year. The man is fumbling HARD. pic.twitter.com/bcnnGWxek9— Anthony (@AnthonyKyaw) March 23, 2023 comments from reddit: "Becky G super fans" isn't in the FC Dallas Twitter bio anymore Apple TV+ literally building a whole ass show around them. They either have to scrub it or it’s going to get renewed for a season 2 on the back of this. imagine fumbling the bag that hard. loooooord. Nat’l team career in the shitter, bounced outta LA to Dallas and cheating on Becky G….. dude is having a midlife crisis at the ripe age of 30

The accuser is being coy. There's no evidence being provided. Until there is, it's pretty bad to make condemnations. Sad, but not surprising to see people taking out their animus toward him as a player, on his personal life. These are real people, not animations. Show some perspective.
I’ll be honest I’m not really seeing the relevance here whether it’s true or not. Sebastian Lletget will likely never play for the USMNT again and even if he did I don’t know why his personal life matters at all.
Also lost his sister in 2021. Weird this guy has garnered so much antipathy for...really wanting to represent the USA in a World Cup. How dare he?
Everyone who has lost a family member tragically should get a pass for shitty behavior. That's the way this works, it seems.
DaBoy loves DaSocialMedia Yet behind this abundance, there is a reality I've hid from everyone around me. I have struggled with personal trauma and acute anxiety compounded by my own denial, pride and bad decisions. ... To Becky, you have been the light in my life, my strength, who has always shown me unconditional love. Instead of honoring that love every day I have done the opposite, hurting you, and disrespecting the one person I love more than anything. I am so sorry and know I have to do whatever it takes to earn back the trust and love you deserve.
Yeah, not sure how that relates to a 20-year old throwing toddler fits at the World Cup and then his mommy trying to ruin the rest of the tournament for his teammates.
Lletget may not be good enough for the USMNT, but I'll bet there's a non-negligible number of BigSoccer members who would LOVE to have his life. Let's keep some perspective here. Personally, I hope he gets his affairs (no pun intended) in order and goes on to have a successful career and family life. And thanks to him for representing us on the field.
I don't get why these last few posts are News and Analysis worthy. I, for one, want to get away from a fan culture that hates on players. It's absolutely useless.
It's time to stop relitigating that issue as well. The team is ready to move on and wants him back, that's enough for me.
