And having won Ten Championships in a row:rolleyes::rolleyes:.

Still think Tuchel is tactically more astute atm, but feel for Nagelsmann.

They have a perfect champions league record - I don't see the problem.
Tuchel will burn himself out of there in 1.5 years

Everton getting nailed for their financial shenanigans .... about bloody time ...

    https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/65068357
Everton have been referred to an independent commission by the Premier League over an alleged breach of financial fair play rules.

The Premier League did not reveal the specifics of the club's rule breach, other than saying it occurred in the period ending with the 2021-22 season. However, Everton have posted financial losses in several recent seasons.

The Toffees denied wrongdoing and said they were "prepared to robustly defend" their position.
In their statement, Everton added: "The club strongly contests the allegation of non-compliance and together with its independent team of experts is entirely confident that it remains compliant with all financial rules and regulations.

"The club has, over several years, provided information to the Premier League in an open and transparent manner and has consciously chosen to act with the utmost good faith at all times."

In March 2022, Everton announced losses of £120.9m for the 2020-21 season.

That meant losses over a period of three years totalled £372m - more than three times the £105m permitted under Premier League rules.

The club said they remained "in a secure financial position" thanks to owner Farhad Moshiri - and blamed the Covid-19 pandemic for part of the losses.

Everton are also in the process of building their new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium.

They remain in a perilous position in the top flight, sitting 15th in the table - two points above the relegation zone.

Last year, Leeds and Burnley wrote to the Premier League asking for Everton's accounts to be independently investigated, although they later dropped their threat of legal action.

The two clubs had been advised Everton complied with profit and sustainability rules after meeting with the Premier League.

In its statement on Friday, the Premier League said the commission would be independent of the league and its clubs, adding proceedings would be "confidential and heard in private".

There have been widespread protests against Moshiri and the Everton board by fans this season.

such frauds. they have been hemorrhaging money year over year - with nothing being done.

funny enough - I bet they get punished - but City don't.

yep. Abu Dhabi can afford to hire the best lawyers on the planet, and can pay them any amount, for any length of time. Everton are broke.

what's weird is he's regarded as one of the top managers, but he really isn't. his record in Euro comps is (IIRC) one game won. one game.

his career consists of: arrive big, insist on spending a ton of cash on proven players, whip them into doing things his way ..... and flame out. no youth (or any player) development, and if the cash doesn't show up and get spent how we wants, he fails and is gone. rinse and repeat.

True. His tournament record is awful.

Juve, Chelsea and Inter out before Semifinal stage and not to mention how Allegri got Juve to finals I think x3 times with Juve.

His domestic cup game isn't all that. Him at Spurs was interesting as a serial winner. I knew that would not happen as his league record is pretty good. He set records and won manager of the month, season multiple times. But he doesn't understand how to win cups mostly. At Spurs they would only get top four and no silverware because he's shown he hasn't done great in domestic or continental tournaments.

How he hasn't won Coppa Italia with two of the strongest teams in Italy he managed at the time I found baffling.

PL puts fingers in ears yet again and bursts into a rousing chorus of "la-la-la-la-la" ......

Premier League chief executive Richard Masters has told MPs he cannot comment on whether his organisation is investigating who has control of Newcastle and if it is re-examining its approval of the club's Saudi takeover.

Newcastle's takeover by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) was approved after "legally binding assurances" the Saudi government would not have any control over the club.

However, in a US court case, documents published last month described the PIF as "a sovereign instrumentality of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia" and PIF Governor and Newcastle chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan as "a sitting minister of the government" with "sovereign immunity".

The statements were made by lawyers representing LIV Golf, owned by the PIF, which also has a controlling stake in Newcastle.

Masters was asked about the documents by Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) select committee member Clive Efford MP on Tuesday. "I can't really comment on it," said Masters.
"I mean, even to the point of saying, 'Is the Premier League investigating it?', we can't really comment on it. Obviously we are completely aware. And you're correct about the general nature of the undertakings that we received at the point of takeover. But I can't really go into it at all."

"The time when the Premier League comments publicly on regulatory issues is when it's charged, and at the end of the process when an independent panel has decided whether any rule breaches have actually taken place. The investigatory process, we don't talk about at all."

"The time when the Premier League comments publicly on regulatory issues is when it's charged, and at the end of the process when an independent panel has decided whether any rule breaches have actually taken place. The investigatory process, we don't talk about at all."

A San Francisco court approved the PGA Tour's request to include Al-Rumayyan and the PIF as defendants in its lawsuit against LIV and ordered them to produce documents in the case.

However, the PIF challenged the order, arguing the fund and its governor Al-Rumayyan "are not ordinary third parties subject to basic discovery relevance standards". "The order is an extraordinary infringement on the sovereignty of a foreign state that is far from justified here," a court document read.

"They are a sovereign instrumentality of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and a sitting minister of the Saudi government, and they cannot be compelled to provide testimony and documents in a US proceeding
unless their conduct - not LIV's or anyone else's - is truly the 'gravamen' of the case."
