For sure. But the rumor was that Zubimendi was interested, just didn't want to leave mid-season with Sociedad chasing UCL qualification. And we know Arsenal bid on Caicedo, but Brighton were reluctant to sell as they chased European qualification. And since I posted earlier, seems more and more a possibility that Partey will not be around next season.
Doubt we’d go after the Danish version of Erling Haaland, but this rumor says we are intersted in striker Rasmus Hojlund. until today I had never heard of him https://www.planetfootball.com/trending/rasmus-hojlund-arsenal-transfer-haaland-hat-trick-denmark/
Missed this from 3 days ago, but La Liga ruled that Gavi at Barcelona will have to revert back to an academy player and trade his 6 jersey for number 30, since 1-25 are reserved for 1st team players and Gavi wasn't legally registered as a first team player. That also activates a clause in Gavi's contract that if he isn't registered as a first team player, he can leave on a free in the summer. Barca are going to appeal, but The Athletic has a story pitching reasons for him to join different clubs. Every major club would love to add a €90m rated player who is 18 years old, so he could end up on crazy wages after a bidding war. I know @chjoak has brought his name up a few times, maybe Arteta can sway him.
He would be damn near the ideal option to compete for the L8 spot. However, he is a Barca kid, has played over 2000 min for them this season (including CL) and Barca is currently coasting to 1st place. I don't see any way he leaves unless a team (Chelsea or ManU) throws an absolutely ridiculous salary at him.
I think he doesn't leave more that he maybe gets sold in his mid 20s if Barca need to pull levers. I can't see him wanting to leave, and Barca want to keep him. Going to take something astronomical to pry him away from what I have read, he loves the place. Sounds like it would be like someone trying to take Saka from us.
I rate Gavi, but highly unlikely he’d ever come here. Even if he did somehow arrive, the fracas around him would be far worse than Cesc. If Barca are indeed forced to sell, the transaction would probably be structured more like a multi-year loan with an obligation (first rights, etc) to sell back to Barca in 1-3 years after his new contract expires. Since this is Barca, there would likely be clauses to enable Barca to bring him back during the first transfer window that Barca has pulled all their levers to properly register him with the club
Stay away from those fcukers we should be looking at players like Jude Bellingham, midfielders who have pace but can contribute both sides of the ball. Xhaka is still a good player but someone who offers more pace there with finishing ability would be good and before you say it, esr is not an 8
Maybe you should tell Mikel because he has been training ESR in the L8 spot since he returned from his surgery.
This season, I don't think so. However, I recall him playing there 2-3 times in the last few seasons. I wanna say there was 1 start (cup match?) and 1-2 sub appearances.
He may of pmayed there but his lack of defensive prowess is something I doubt helps him in that role he’s only ever stood out as an inside forward cutting in and most of the time that was in a counter attacking situation
Where are you getting all this from ? It’s common knowledge that there’s 5 players who are paramount to Barca’s plans and Gavi is one of those five . Their would be riots if he was to leave .
Barca were forced to revert Gavi's registration back to that of an academy player (he has to change his shirt number too) so he can leave for free this summer.
So Barca had to change Gavi back to an academy player to comply with FFP? And now they could lose him on a free? Seems unlikely, but that would be hilarious, and I'd love it if we screwed that mob over.
Agreed he is not going anywhere, but it is comical how that club is run https://www.espn.com/soccer/barcelo...ng-over-missed-deadline-barcelona-deny-claims
At a minimum, Gavi can use the release clause as leverage to get a better wage on a new contract to stay at Barca. And with the rumors about Messi returning, I'm sure Barca will do everything 100% above board and in line with La Liga regulations. That's the funny thing about saying Gavi is part of Barca's plan, since when has Barca had a plan that was practical and within the league rules?
Being reported by German sources that we are looking at bringing Jesper Lindstrom in during the summer window. Not sure if that link really makes sense anymore but could be worth watching.
Depends on what Arteta thinks he is. If he’s viewed as a midfielder, he could be a smart buy as a long-term possibility in Xhaka’s role. If he’s seen as an attacker, we really need more of a right sided (probably left-footed) player.
True. Per WhoScored, this season he has 24 starts at AM, 4 starts at RM/W and 2 starts at LM/W. His passing, defensive & dribbling stats aren't very impressive as an AM so I'm not sure what Mikel/Edu may be seeing. Does have some decent goal contributions (7) though so who knows. Right now, he strikes me as a bit of a "project" and that makes me nervous considering that he is already 23.
18yo Brazilian forward from Paranaese... Excl: Vitor Roque’s agent will fly to England this weekend to speak to three english clubs, including Arsenal, who’s very interested in the player. Chelsea & an unnamed club are the other two. Athletico are asking for €50million as they consider him as good talent as Endrick.— Renato (@rehnato) April 2, 2023
