Revs will be short 2 players this Saturday: Revolution midfielder Dylan Borrero, defender Christian Makoun earn national team call-ups By revolutionsoccer.net Monday, Mar 20, 2023, 03:00 PM
Well, Borrero struggled last Saturday. Still needs to find his way. And Makoun, well, not sure we were going to use him anyway. Could be worse.
DCU is 1-1-2, with a win and a tie at home - beating Toronto and tying Orlando, two middle of the conference teams. This is the kind of road game we need to win - especially early in the season. Arena seemed confident that Gil would be back for this one, but I'm skeptical - seems pretty quick.
MATCHDAY GUIDE | Revs at D.C. United (March 25, 2023) By Jeff Lemieux Monday, Mar 20, 2023, 01:07 PM First time since week 1 not behind the paywall.
I try to keep an eye on DC just because I'm a Rooney fan (as a manager). He did a terrific job with Derby under some awful circumstances dealing with point deductions, not being able to sign anyone and the organization falling apart around him with their ownership being a mess. DC isn't exactly trying for a slow rebuild. They brought in Mateusz Klich from Leeds, who's been pretty effective, and Christian Benteke. They've also got a 16 year old CB who started their opener.
I know! I was scratching my head at that one. I was at the game and I became distracted by his seemingly endless weird positioning and passing flubs so I tracked his movements. Maybe they are just trying to pump him up and boost his confidence.
I listen to a Julian Cardillo/Frank Dell'Apa podcast and they also thought he was great and that his movement was instrumental in allowing Bou's run that led to his goal.
I was very underwhelmed by Lindsay last game - I thought she said little, added little and what she did add was pretty understated. On Bou's goal, which IMO was a golazo, she said something like 'in that situation, he's got to get it right' or something pretty unremarkable like that. Yup.
They haven't done anything with them, but the Revs are creating a lot of chances. Better than I expected with three teenagers on the field.
Bound to happen. DC’s built up since min. 15 & finally tied Revs defense in confused knots…. on replay, Kessler seemed lagged or zoned out on DC goal.
I love what I'm seeing from the new guys, Panayotou in particular. But is Latif Blessing out? And where is Wayne Rooney?
Romney and Polster seem off their game. And the homegrowns are trying but they can’t pull the strings like Carles.
Bou’s consistently off his mark so far this game v. DC. FINALLY! Gustovo finds his mark! Gil & Altadore as subs?!?!? Does Bruce understand zero net effect?
