I'm not sure we really need two threads...but I'll post pretty much what I did in the other one. I watched parts of a few matches. I like the video quality and the uniformity and simplicity of the graphics. The announcers were pretty much all voices we've been hearing for years. I think the biggest letdown is the 360 studio show. It's got too many people all yukking it up and trying to outdo each other. I guess maybe they don't think anyone is watching.
Tried to watch the match using the local broadcast with Dave Johnson, but had to turn my tv all the way up and could barely hear it. Wha is up with that?
yeah, I mentioned that in game 1 - the radio feed is potted way down, and I believe it is on the radio end, not the apple end because as soon as they switch to regular apple tv programming the volume is way up.
Given the choice of Dave Johnson mixed too low or Ross Smith mixed too loud, that choice is easy. If that ********er didn't have a Vaguely British accent, he wouldn't get anywhere near a microphone. He might be the worst on-air talent in MLS. He might give Ty Keough a run for worst ever.
Can we talk about how these dumbshit English mutherfückers are trying to rename our beloved soccer teams in their own stupid bucktoothed image? They're not "Philadelphia Union". They're "The Philadelphia Union". "The". They always have been. They're not "New England Revolution". They're "The New England Revolution". "The". They always have been. They're not "Los Angeles Galaxy". They're "The Los Angeles Galaxy". "The". They always have been. Etc. Etc. It's straight-up cultural imperialism. If these illiterate haggis eaters are not able or willing to use the correct words for basic things, maybe announcing isn't the right job for them?
OK, I have an Apple TV and have limited experience using a friend's Roku. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful but it sounds like you found the (potted way down) audio. Hopefully the audio, and DCU, will get better soon.
Last game on my AppleTV I could select the local audio but couldn't hear anything during first half (cranked the volume all the way). It was back for the second half
I gave up switching back and forth in the first half, so I guess my bad for not putting in the effort in the second half. Of course, only showing up for one half is a DC tradition...
Humorous.... but, even as I have also complained about the local radio broadcast tech issues with AppleTV, that's also a little unfair - the team has no control over those kind of tech issues....
I was referring to my effort to get the radio broadcast in relation to DC playing only one half of the match... I resigned myself to whomever was doing the Apple commentary...
AppleTV stopped working for me. I don't know what the issue is but I was logged in and it kept giving me "how to watch" instead of "watch" for the games. I tried logging out but now I can't log back in
Same here. Watched the DCU game, switched over to another game, and I tried to switch to another and now it’s telling me I need to subscribe to watch MLS season pass.
