An old member here on the forum is holding my funds i have send to him during the World Cup. He keeps telling me that he will send it soon. It cost me more time to msg him than the reward. I don't want to share his personal name and details and go to the police here and wondering if the admins can mediate?
just curious what the reward was ... but if you can describe the transaction without giving names. It would help all the members. So we dont fall for the same type of schemes in the future.
FIFA had emailed me back in December to say they couldn't refund to the original CC, and asked me to change the bank details on the daughters FIFA account which I did back in December..
No updates since I ordered mine back in January, but the original time frame was delivery between late March-early April, so I’m assuming that still the plan
I don’t mean reward in that meaning. I mean the amount of time I spend in keep asking him me makes it not worth it. He keeps telling me daily tomorrow today tomorrow. I’ll post his personal information here on the forum and will fill a police complain against him in his country.
Were you able to get any vouchers? I am also trying to get vouchers for family but nobody seems to help. Let me know. Thanks.
Sadly there’s a resell market for them. People are asking for them on boards like here for free; and reselling them for up to 400 QAR each on several Facebook groups. Not saying that’s what you’re doing.
Yes you are right, I have seen those posts of people selling from 300 to 1000 QAR and many are scammers as well. I am looking for personal use but do understand your point.
Specially those who are just new members (less than 24hs) and already asking for vouchers. In a whatsapp group, they are offering like $30 dollars for those vouchers... I guess there is a big business for those who want to resell it.
Now I understand how those guys on FB are getting the vouchers to sell, because they certainly don't seem International Fans. I would have bought from them but issue is can't trust because many are scammers who don't even have it.
Anyone still waiting for ticket refunds from RO16 or later? Sold 4 tickets on Dec. 6th and only got refund for 1/4 of them back in early Feb. Still waiting for the rest.
That's great, I am still looking for it but only find people selling it, can buy also at reasonable price but on FB those selling seems very unreliable, they might not even be having the voucher in the first place.
There absolutely is a big business for them and they sell inside Qatar for 1500 Qar + and it could be a group of people involved not just an individual. Mainly used as a 'For Granted' year long stay visitor visa. Contrary to the usual 2 months visit visa, same one that costs more than 400 Qar just for the application and its only 2 months needless to mention the paperwork as well.
And he will probably resell it for more, all these guys have messed up the system and created a huge black market for something which was given Free to share with Friends. Unfortunately, because of these lot, everyone is skeptical and rightly so.
Well i hate to say it, but its probably a 'Migrant Worker' looking for a quick Flip. I was left flabbergasted with the amount of Deceit they'd put into trying to convince me these vouchers are worthless. Everyone in Qatar even locals had to apply for Hayya Cards so they have their own codes. Long story short there is no "my family, i need free codes." if you'd really wanted to bring in your family in you would look for a local primarily, most probably won't hesitate to pay! Regardless the price... ( I have personally seen them picked up for free at World Cup groups and offered for sale in another group in a 15 minute span by the same bunch of dudes haha)
Has anyone managed to get a refund (80%) from QAA? I emailed in December and they said they would start the process in February. They've since stopped responding to any emails.
Just to correct you : Locals and Residents of Qatar are not given these vouchers, only International Fans who visited with a match ticket are given these vouchers.
We should try to email some international newspapers telling this complete lack of response from QAA. Maybe some bad press will put some pressure on these scammers from QAA.
