It appears that I am now living in the metaverse (whatever that is). You all need to go watch this YouTube clip. The Dutch did win a major trophy as this FIFA TV clip proves (the clip has to be watched on YouTube).

After the 2 upcoming matches, I hope that we can see no more or less of
Blind, de Roon, Berghuis, Klaassen, Wijnaldum and incoming Reijnders, Van De Boomen, Summerville, Dallinga, Frimpong (not one to one replacement). We will see how this team does after these 2 matches.

Sweet and simple. I still think though Karsdorp deserves to be called up. If he had an Italian passport he would be starting for them.

I totally agree. Karsdorp is performing quite well in Italy, and he deserves a call up.
On the left fank the one who should be called up is Bakker, especially if we consider that we still play with Blind, whose national team carreer should end imho.
Also Wijnaldum's call up is disappointing for me, he hasn't played well since the injury, and at the age of 32 y.o., i think that his international career should end too.
Other players who are notably missing from this list are Lang and Noppert. Lang deserved to be in more than Malen, and Noppert should definitely be there given the excellent performances at the world cup.

Yes Noppert is injured, but I don't know if he is out for the season

This is unbelievable… now Gakpo, De Ligt, Botman, Veerman and Verbruggen are our due to a viral infection. Doomsday scenario.:confused:

I didn't know! It makes sense now. Thank you.

Fortunately we have pretty good alternatives. De Vrij would be an undiscussed starter in many other national teams, Gakpo could have been replaced by Lang or Dallinga, Gravenberch despite not gaining play time is still one of the most promising Dutch midfielders.

  10. Still he calls in players who don't see the pitch instead of those midfielders in Italy and France.
Ryan Gravenberch (Bayern München), Kjell Scherpen (Vitesse) and Stefan de Vrij (Internazionale) are the replacements.

De Vrij should be a regular at FC Internazionale, Gravenberch obviously has almost never seen the pitch this year, and i agree that someone like van den Boomen from FC Toulose could have been called up instead of him.

    We're gonna get killed.
Might as well not show up and mail France the 3 points

Don't be so pessimist. We still have a good defence with the likes of van Dijk, Botman and de Vrij.
We just need to be careful to Mbappé's acceleration and don't let Griezmann to make his play.

Struijk also deserves a try at least. Not guarantee that he is the solution but Koeman "should take a look" like he does with Brobbey.

Koeman makes the same mistake like Van Gaal with selection. I hope he learns and changes.
Sometimes the team plays harder with short staff/players situation; not always work but sometimes. We will see how this team deal with adversity. I'm ok with the loss as long as everyone plays hard with the right tactic and the loss comes from the opponent's better individual skills.

Botman is one of the sick. Ake is the top Dutch defender.

Also Ake is good, especially if we paly with 3 defenders.
But Botman isn't one of the sick.

    I read otherwise about Botman.
Regardless it’s quite unfortunate for the lads that are missing out.

I don't get the Brobbey selection. He hasnot done anything noteworthy since his return to Ajax.
You take a look at players at their clubs and their performance there. Selection is an award for your club performance, you earn your selection by club performance. Unfortunately the MO is more where you play than how you're doing. Jerdy Schouten probably only gets the nod if he's going to be bought by a low flying epl team.
Against Inter he was the MVP/Man of the Match
    https://www.1000cuorirossoblu.it/news/59-bologna/42278-l-uomo-della-partita-jerdy-schouten

He churns out the winning assist, he is always in the right place at the right time, he plays the most intelligent and useful ball for the cause. A gigantic game that of Schouten, who together with Dominguez built a dam in midfield worthy of the best Perez and Mudingay, but adding a lot of quality in the offensive phase. And this performance came against one of Italy's strongest midfielders, which adds even more value to Jerdy's game. There are 40 passes made by the Dutchman, of which 35 were successful. Closing a game with 87% of successful passes, including the decisive assist for the goal, against a battleship like Inter, is not an everyday thing at all. And going beyond the numbers, the mere presence of the 26-year-old Dutchman in the middle of the field, gives balance to the team and facilitates the task of his teammates. If you then put someone like Dominguez, who probably hasn't stopped running yet, next to it, then everything becomes easier.

Brobbey like it or not is rated by Koeman at this point.
With the current lack of quality strikers I understand this but then again I happen to like Brobbey myself.
He certainly catches the eye from a physique standpoint, and has a pretty good strike rate throughout his young career.
I’ll say it again Ajax, Schreuder, and now Heitinga are making a mistake by not playing him more and from the start.
Hopefully he is showing his qualities this week under Koeman’s watch.
I think training with stronger players will help him and get more out of him.

Gakpo, De Ligt and others protested against Koeman's poor selection and decided to leave the camp. Koeman then called more bench players.

There is no report of this being true. Players have become ill and had to drop out because of that and nothing more. In the future, please provide documentation about your claims as we do not like trolling on this forum.
