Also, it just now occurs to me that I never got a scarf at Rov'rum last Fall. I always pick up a scarf at any new ground I attend, but pre-match was pints with mates and then I had to get out so quickly (to catch the train south from Donny) that hitting the club shop never occurred. That makes Rotherham United one of only two clubs that I've attended, but of which I do not have a scarf. The other was Schalke, from which I was going directly post-match to meet my pal Winfied's brother-in-law at a pub in Dortmund to view a BVB match on the telly. I didn't much fancy taking that item into that location.
It looks like the Warnock effect has kicked in at Huddersfield so we're probably going to have to finish above Cardiff or QPR. QPR look the most likely to go down (besides us) as they've been in free fall for most of the season. We managed to get a good point away from home today but we've gone back to being totally toothless. Our remaining homes games will probably decide our fate (wins needed), the Cardiff fixture has been rearranged for 25th April.
Great result and most of all performance, we're still not safe though with Huddersfield getting 10 points from their last 12. It has to be QPR that go down surely? they don't score enough goals and concede too many, not to mention keep losing to teams at the bottom of the table. I think I've said it before but in October they were top of the league on 30pts after 16 games, 24 games later and they're on 42 points, that's 12 points out of a possible 72! I don't know what went on after 16 games but they have relegation written all over them.
Cardiff fixture has been moved back a few days too apparently, something to do with Sky TV choosing to broadcast it I think.
Luton Town is making a serious bid for the Prem! So are barely stayed up in the Championship before us Coventry City ! MEH!
Yeah we'll just have to take this one on the chin, thankfully nearly all of the other results went our way.
Should we just drop Burnley into the European cups? UP THE MILLERS! Also, is it all due to Vincent Kompany or it is him + a cash influx? It's crazy how good they are.
I don't know about Kompany we'll find out more about him when he's up against it next year, they're a bit of a yo-yo team so presumably parachute payments have allowed them to keep hold of a lot of their players and probably sign some more. They've only lost 2 games all season so we'll take that point!
LOL, have it. MY GAFFER! #rufcGo show off to your fans! pic.twitter.com/H5jj2AH317— Hancok 🇪🇪 (@San_Pers) April 18, 2023
Kelly's winner, he seems to be our best striker but rarely gets a game. KELLLLLLLLLLLLLLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!! #RUFC pic.twitter.com/urTiew24q1— Hancok 🇪🇪 (@San_Pers) April 18, 2023 Lots of injuries now though, Wood was brought back from pasture last night and our 3rd choice goalkeeper had to come on for his debut at half time.
Scunthorpe United relegated into the 6th tier of English football, they were in the Championship just over 10 years ago. Yeovil Town relegated to there as well, another team we used to be in the same division as. I think it shows how good a job our chairman is doing with limited resources.
