Somehow, even the simplest German club logos are distinctly German.

If you told me that logo was actually an obscure German traffic sign, I would believe it.

I didn't look it up on Wikipedia (hand to God)...is the cool pitch located in Greenland? I seem to remember a picture of it, although not this particular aerial shot, when there was talk a few years ago about Greenland petitioning FIFA to join its ranks so it could become a member of CONCACAF.

It is indeed ... it is in Nanortalik in South Greenland. It looks like most towns are getting all weather pitches. Previously the only one was in Nuuk. There's a page called Greenland Today on Facebook and they occasionally have pictures of pitches.

Geologically speaking, Greenland is part of CONCACAF. :):D:whistling:

Of course, technically, so is about 90% of the population of Iceland...

This line of reasoning is how I can claim to have visited Africa. I visited the Canary Islands, which are part of Spain but geologically they're African. :D

Not just geographically, they have petitioned to join Concacaf. This piece highlights some difficulties associated therewith.

I lived in Greenland for a year and love the country and people. They really do love soccer ... I was in the town sports center in Qaanaaq, 750 miles above the Arctic Circle, and they had banners for European soccer teams lining the walls. During their annual national tournament, the country shuts down and they broadcast all of their games on the national TV channel.

They'd fit better in CONCACAF with the large number of smaller teams. However, the practical challenge is that almost all of their airlinks are through Denmark. It would also be impossible to play any games outside except for maybe May-July.
