I think if Napoli or Benfica do some damage in the CL, and it's very likely since they are both in excellent form, Kvarsheklia and Goncalo Ramos might become targets next summer.

Because Carvajal was in his prime, Lucas was a valuable squad player and Bale's injuries and attitude had not escalated into dead weight situation.

Since his early days in Birmingham I'd reckon. But sure lets do some more mental gymnastics and label a guy whose best quality is tenacity an attacking midfielder.

Call him what you want, with him Fede remains stuck in an unsuitable position, and we overspend on a position which is not a priority. With all the leaks in this boat, if you really want another midfielder that badly right now, go for Lavia for half Bellingham's price and save the rest for the fullback positions. Hell we can buy Lavia AND Veiga for less money than we would spend on Bellingham.

Apart from having prime Carvajal, the major difference is back then we had a great depth and the coach could choose starting eleven based on form and opponent. Now we just have a starting eleven basically, and even that has to be constantly reshuffled to play key players out of position.

I know I will get hate for this; but Joao Felix would be a sublime signing.

We need to push this hard for him. He is like Camavinga where he can do the dirty work but can be explosive with the pass. He just has a bit more creativity and comfort going forward.

I would make Tchouameni the anchor then have CamaBell pivot partners in front of him. Valverde to their right to freedom to press into the box. Vinicius left forward and ask City to loan us Julian Alvarez for a year because it would be madness going into next season with Benzema and Alvaro.

I think we've seen enough of the Valverde on the wing mess. No thank you.

    He is a CM.

Valverde at his best is better than any box to box midfielder out there. And he has Madridismo.

Get a very good right wing player instead of stacking the midfield with six or seven world class players for 3 places, and being left with only one quality option for each of the three forward positions ahead of them.

Valverde is great at RW as well. He's just going through a tough spell right now. I'm sure he will recover.

Funny thing is, if the club signs Bellingham, Carlo would still probably start Kroos and Modric together. Lol.

This is great in concept but where is this really good right winger?

I'm open to it but the options just either aren't financially realistic or they don't move the needle.

I think Vini and Rodrygo should occupy the wings in most games, with them swapping wings with a certain frequency to make us less predictable.

Don't know if Vini would be a diva and complain about it, but with the league over, there would be no reason not to test this option.

Have you watched him all of last year and this year until he had that really bad personal situation?

Football is going through a transition period, so we cannot sit back thinking there is no super star at a particular position, there are decent options as RW - Mahrez , Doku, Salah( unlikely), Chiesa.

We really need to reinforce the attack, it's high time.

Rodrygo has no business on RW. Totally out of position.

That's why I said to test them in free-roaming wing-swapping conditions.

If we had an attacking RB, people wouldn't complain as much

Rodrygo has a good cross on him, a good ability to get in the box and usually a lethal finish, although that has deserted him recently.

There’s no reason he can’t be a very good RW, but he isn’t making that spot his at the moment.

The problem with form is often it doesn’t have to do with the player himself.

It could be a personal situation like with Valverde.

Often it’s also a question of mix, and the relationship of other bits of the team. This is most apparent in midfield where a player can look great next to one set of players and totally lost next to others, but it’s also the same on the flanks.

It’s harsh to judge Rodrygo when the whole right side doesn’t work. It may be that you get a good reliable rightback and he becomes a world beater again.

The next midfielder we sign needs to be an absolute baller....

We at one point had...Modric, Ozil, Kaka, Di Maria and Xabi Alonso all at once....so much creativity in the middle...insane.

Real Madrid fans have really been spoiled over the years lol.

How about a 3-5-2 formation? Where the wingbacks provide the width.

I understand the push for Bellingham if both Kroos and Modric are on their way out this summer. Doesnt really make sense if we are renewing one or both.

If we are going hard for Belli, that tells me our plan for RW is Brahim and Fede next season. Now plans can change as we know. Jude can very easily sign with City and maybe our focus shifts to renewing Modric and signing that Celta kid and going after a wing player. There aren't many pure out and out RW players with the correct profile so it might end up being a flashy move like Kvara and play him on the right with Brahim as backup. Thats just my read on it. It's so early and many things can change but the full court press for Belli gives an indication of how leadership is seeing this squad next season.

Maybe if Xabi becomes our next coach he can bring Diaby at a fair price. He is amazing out on that right side and he works hard in defense too. We won't need to upgrade RB this summer if we sign him even tho ideally we should but we can strengthen LB instead. If Brahim is the only addition at RW we must add a real attacking RB.

Dude, i am hoping there is some unknown young striker out there that we haven't heard about yet and the club has in its sight, i am struggling to see who we can get. I think the club's plan is to stick with Benzema for one more season because they want someone like Haaland or Mbappe to replace him.
