Araujo and Frenkie have picked up injury / discomfort in El Clasico. Hopefully nothing serious. We have a good lead now but must maintain a healthy squad to close out the league.

Considering Uruguay has friendlies in Tokyo and Seoul this week, I was kind of expecting the news that Araujo has 'picked up an injury'.:D

Barca's next match just got more difficult as Elche have fired their manager.

Raphinha suspended. Araujo a doubt with a thigh injury.

I just realized how close Barca is to the title

While math wise they need 25 points to win (93) Real is not reaching 90+ points this year. I say 86 is the best they will reach. Maybe. Barca has 68 points which means 6 wins 1 draw is enough.

6 wins in 12 games is something ever the worst Barca managed in the past. And that is if Real managed to win 10 out of 12. Which will not happen.

As long as key players stay healthy, it should be in the bag for sure.

The Treasury has found no evidence that payments to Negreira influenced refereeing decisions. [efe]

I don't see LPB winning every match either, but I wouldn't bet my life on it given how average La Liga is outside the top 3 (none of whom Madrid have to play again). Last year they had a similar point tally after 26 games and then won every match except for the clasico until they clinched the title.

So the target should still be 93 points for now. Which is also quite feasible, mind you.

    Some bad injury update .

Pedri’s injury setback is worse than expected . He won’t be back right after international break and will miss the return CDR leg vs Madrid .

Dembele is also very doubtful to return in time for CDR match .

Yikes! So same thin squad that we had in the league clasico, minus possibly Araujo (our best player) and minus the Barca players that will get injured during the international break. :(

UEFA is getting involved in the Negreira investigation. Not sure if true, but I saw mention on Twitter that it's Tebas that went to them to get them involved.

And I also saw this quote from him floating around:

“The best thing for the Spanish federation to do is to remove Joan Laporta from his position.”

WTF is this guy on ?

Well the whole world thinks we’ve been bribing judges for the last twenty years so the damage is done .. if nothing comes of these charges we should sue the hell outcif someone for the damage caused to our name

    Fixed.

A bit off topic, but Courtois also left the Belgium squad to return to Madrid with an injury (mentioning since another clasico is coming up).

This is listed as some of the favors that the club bought from Negreira.

The Spanish Audit Office recognizes that it cannot prove the purchase of referees, but clings, for the serious denunciation, to favors that Negreira could have done to Barca.

    - Instruct which cards the club should contest.
    - Prevent only judges from Madrid from being part of the Spanish “STJD”

    In addition, Negreira:
    - Recommended that the club send someone to the tributes of referees when they ended their career.
    - Would request to increase the number of players in the squad to 25
    - Recommended that the club have someone in the RFEF to maintain relations
    - Notify when there would be a visit from the RFEF, for the club to maintain diplomatic relations

This is what the Public Prosecutor's Office puts in its text to justify the accusation of match-fixing. In the Prosecution's text, they admit that there is no evidence on the purchase of arbitrators.

Fati ‘s father in an interview , seemingly by his own accord , complaining about his son”s lack of playing time and that if it were up to him Fati would leave the club . This reeks of a Mendes orchestrated move .

To go further, the reporting seems to indicate that this is Fati's father's perspective, but not that of Fati himself. "I have told Ansu that it is better for him to have a change of scenery. Ansu does not agree with me. He wants to stay and succeed at FC Barcelona."
