We shouldn't even be shocked but it's still startling how many times they have used VAR to remove our goals as if they search for anything to annual them yet they seem to ignore obvious infractions before barca scores.

It is a bit weird that Barca got two massive VAR decisions in the last two games, while they are currently being investigated for corruption though.
I mean, even though they are not paying the guy any more, the impact of his decisions may still be being felt.

They should hold Barca games without any officiating, just to be on the safe side. Everybody calls their fouls like we're playing 5 a side.

Players like him don't even come around anymore. Maybe football will revert back to that style in a couple of decades or maybe we are done with that era. We've been fortunate to have seen some amazing creative players and Mesut can stand shoulder to shoulder with any of them. His vision, skill were just elite. Good guy too.

They paid an active referee? The problem is that not a single person has managed to link a payment to a case of result manipulation yet. You can scream at the sky about it, but until a blown whistle is linked to a single cent, nothing will change. With other manipulation scandals you had the clear line of order "I want this to happen" and the response "ok, done". The Rubiales thing was arguably bigger but nothing really happened.
