Dumbasses that just learned what patents and trademarks are and are now suddenly surprised that someone would defend their patent and trademarks. Morons.
Sporting KC copywriting the phrase "The Soccer Capital of America" may not be the dumbest copyright ever, it's the dumbest one I can think of right now.
To be entirely fair, SKC applied for the trademark a month after the STL fan podcast started and didn't officially get the trademark until a year later. So whoever was freely using it first, the trademark application was at best a corporate response to an unrelated fan podcast. Even if what SKC did was legal, it was unnecessary bullying.
There is only one thing to do with trademark attorneys... See the label on Clown Shoes Beer Undead Party Crasher...
Speaking of other teams the All Star game is going to be a Audi Field with Arsenal as an opponent. They are trying to trick me into buying tickets.
The skills competitions are free to STH. I may go to that, but I'm not parting with any cash to watch a meaningless exhibition.
It's even better, I can go to a "Paint and Sip" open to STH for $10 per person "donation" at the Wine & Design in the Belleview Shopping Center in Alexandria (Fairfax County). The subject matter will be "cherry blossoms."
Better than staring at Arsenal, Man City, Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Man United jerseys sitting around you at Audi?
Yeah, I've got people texting me from out of town trying to put something together. That Arsenal is not the Arsenal you think it is, sure come into town but let's do something fun instead.
Atlanta looks fantastic at the moment. LAFC has been a consistently good watch for several seasons now.
What do you mean? All other teams are dumpster fires of evil! They lie, cheat, and steal to get points. When they play DC they bribe referees and put snipers in the stands! They are all evil!!!
ASG prices are through the roof (pun intended)! My regular $45/game seats in 126 are $270 with tikatDICKtator's convenience fees. Chico stand is $132 each.
i think they are holding lots of seats back because there is not much available now, and they are allowing singletons all over the place.
Last year in Minnesota they paid between 2-3x their STM price according to an old Reddit thread. While I didn't come anywhere near getting my actual seats, which I don't quite understand why it's so hard to make that happen, they were a little more than 3x my price before fees. I missed the Tuesday night email in the regular deluge of DCU emails asking me to buy season tix, single game tix, partial plans, other random ticket packages, and the assorted other junk that comes from the team so I was late getting into ticketmaster. I got 2 seats a section over and a few rows back, so end line rather than midfield preferred, for $445 with tax & fees. When I got in around 10 AM, there were comfortably less than 1500 seats available. Mostly seats in the upper deck. I can't say I am a fan of how they managed this or just about anything else with the STC program these days. I felt pretty good coming out of last season with respect to the rest of the program, but the devil is as always in the details. I emailed back and forth with my rep and can't say I am super happy that I have priority access to playoff tickets and ASG tickets, yet the word priority means two entirely different things. I went back and forth with my rep on this and he confirmed a few other things which I think are going to weigh against renewal. For at least the 2nd time I asked about what the unique pre-game member experiences were to have him ignore the question again and when I asked about events, he indicated that they're happy with the turnout for Thursday night events which are mostly a pass for us. We live in Oakkton, so it's a haul when you've got to deal with traffic going in, work & school the next day, etc. combined with my daughter not enjoying because we always lose (her words) and TBH, Meet the Guy Behind the Table Day doesn't really cut it as special anything anymore. Having voted themselves a tidy raise after winning the Spoon and another raise for next season (right?), I think this might finally be it for us. What we spend on 4 MF preferred seats, parking, F&B, and merch we can do any number of really nice things in lieu of spending on a product that treats us like 3rd class citizens. Redoing our landscaping, going to Europe, putting the $ away for a car for little PSU are all really good alternate uses of the money. The way much of what he phrased was we are doing what we promised and want you to stay a STC, but the tone of it was IDGAFF if you stay or go.
