Conte doesn't have the patience to rebuild...he's a max 2 year coach. Im fine with Manicini but if we were to bolt or fail in the next Euros, it's time to call Don Carlo I think he's ready for the part time work of national team gig away from the Club grind.
He'll be perfect because the NT isn't a weekly thing and nowhere near as involved as a club coach, it's the right amount of Conte.
True, or return to Italy in general. Why on earth would you leave real Madrid?? Btw uefa will ban Juventus. Cry bitch
Chiesa's latest injury is not serious. He's coming back from an ACL and I personally think his form was really starting to pick up lately. Obviously he's not back at 100% but that is normal after an ACL. He's not Giuseppe Rossi and he's far superior to Berardi in every way. Better skill, uses both feet well, faster, clutch. He'll be an important part of our team for a long time. I was a skeptic of the Retegui call up. However, I didn't realize he's Sicilian on his mother's side and spent summers in Sardegna as a kid where his dad was coaching some sort of hockey team. Apparently, he's brushing up on his Italian. Is he going to be belting the Inno di Mameli anytime soon? No. But, is he that far off of say a Mauro Camoranesi? I'm not so sure. Mauro did spend a lot of years in Italy and it was his adopted home so that is certainly different. But, if Mateo wears the shirt with pride and honors his bloodline, then perhaps I need to be more open-minded about it....particularly when our biggest striker hopes seem to be in Serie B right now.
I would find a way to bring Fagioli. He’s simply playing too good to leave to the leave to the U21s. Pessina I would drop him because he adds nothing
Dimarco injured. So instead of promoting Udogie or calling up Biraghi who is having a good season, Mancini goes to the well of this guys and brings back Emerson Palmieri
So another Mancini press conference where he pisses and moans about not having good enough talent available to him and the press throw their usual softball questions. He completely skated around the Zaccagni question and no one bothered to press him on it. Amazing that the only Italian available that's in the top 10 of scoring is deemed not good enough. It hasn't dawned on Mancini yet that the same reason he poaches Retegui, is the same reason Italian coaches and DS's don't use Italian talent. Mancini is a hypocrite. He is doing what they do but at national level. If Mancini had the balls and a little humility he would call-up Lucca, Colombo, Pinamonti, Kean etc. If he is the genius he says he is, then he could make them work. I heard on a podcast that it's possible now that Romania will call-up Andrea Compagno to the national team. I hate where this is going
What does Mancini see in Emerson? We all watch Emerson do absolutely nothing from the LB, and on a team with better attacking, maybe it would be okay to have a conservative, zero-risk player at that position. But Italy need aggressive play from that spot. It was arguably the driving offensive force during the 35+ game unbeaten streak. Emerson is incapable of providing that kind of spark, and therefore Mancini is crazy to ever play him. Emerson better sit next to Pafundi as an absolute last-ditch sub, because if he's getting minutes instead of Spina I'm going to throw up. Pessina is just mediocre. I don't care that he's gotten a few opportune goals for Italy. There are 5 other midfielders who Mancini should be picking over Pessina without any deep thought.
https://bolavip.com/ar/boca/Mancini...ara-la-Seleccion-de-Italia-20230320-0065.html Mancini wants to summon another Boca player for the Italian National Team After sealing the call for Mateo Retegui, the Italian technical director goes by a proper name who plays for Xeneize. However, it seems that Mancini is not satisfied with Retegui's call-up and continues to keep an eye on Argentine football for future commitments. Without going any further, the renowned coach from the past in teams like Manchester City revealed that there are several footballers he is following closely and among them there is another Argentine. In the midst of this panorama, there is a player from the current professional squad of Boca Juniors who is of interest to Mancini thinking about the next calls for the Italian National Team. This is Nicolás Valentini , a 21-year-old central defender who works mostly in the Xeneize Reserve led by Mariano Herrón.
So it's not that the talent isn't there, it's that the talent is undisciplined and makes dumb decisions. Add Kean and Zaniolo to that club.
Yeah it was interesting for one or two, but this is kinda desperate. Just go with what you got in Italy and have faith. My pov, I'm just curious to see what a Argentine fresh from his country will do in a European qualifier campaign. I'm interested in how they adapt. I'm also half italian too, so this is just interesting.
Salad still plays pretty deep and is shit, but he's a foreigner and needs to have a fair chance. That means he can make as many mistakes as he wants.
i agree... the doom and gloom is overstated. Yes we don't have a reliable striker.. but what we have is great wingers... great midfielders.. a solid defence.. and a top 5 goalie in the world (Gigio or Vicario you pick).
