Maybe I’m being overly optimistic but I don’t believe we are backing out if the Bellingham sweepstakes.

An alternative scenario is that Liverpool has already convinced Bellingham to join Liverpool and now find themselves in a tough negotiation with Dortmund. If Dortmund are demanding 150 million, Liverpool put it out there they aren’t willing to do business in that range. They tell Dortmund to go talk to Man City. The problem for Dortmund would be that Bellingham does not want to play for City, and Dortmund would have to come back to the table and talk to Liverpool.

Liverpool target Goncalo Inacio currently has a £40 million release clause in a contract which runs until 2026.

Khephren Thuram has admitted that he’s aware of transfer speculation linking him with a potential move to Liverpool, with £30 million mooted as the asking price.

AS Monaco sporting director Paul Mitchell has held talks with Premier League side Liverpool.

Liverpool may have to pay a record fee for a goalkeeper - €13m - from the Jupiler Pro League if they decide to move for Anderlecht star Bart Verbruggen this summer.

Liverpool could consider a move for Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch in the summer transfer window but he is “one of the many” options for Jurgen Klopp at the moment.

Liverpool are one of a number of clubs interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Renato Sanches in the summer transfer window, according to reports....PSG are ‘prepared to part ways’ with Sanches ‘just one year after signing him from Lille’ with the midfielder suffering a number of injuries and failing to ever play more than 25 games in a league season.
Sounds like the PERFECT Liverpool player!!! Get him signed up! Who will fill the sick room otherwise?

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp doesn’t think reported sporting director target Paul Mitchell would be a good fit for the club.

Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot has opened up about his support for Liverpool and Steven Gerrard, with Reds reportedly interested in signing the France international.
This does make sense if he's on a 2 year contract and is ready to WORK himself to death. Otherwise, would prefer some of the younger, hungrier, and athletic midfielders we've been linked.

Liverpool are considering signing St. Patrick’s Athletic youngster Mason Melia in the summer. The 15-year-old Irish attacking sensation has been garnering rave reviews.

Liverpool have not held talks with Juventus over the permanent transfer of Arthur Melo.
This is the MOST BREAKING of breaking news. Highly inspiring stuff.

Even though a lot of fans have their hopes pinned on Liverpool signing Bellingham, all hope of the club making a good signing is not lost and that is because the next player that I can see a number of European giants turning their attention towards is Monaco’s Youssouf Fofana.

As a result, the Athletic have claimed that in the event that Liverpool miss out on signing Jude Bellingham, Newcastle United attacker Joe Willock could come through the door as a plan B.

Liverpool have now watched Celta Vigo midfielder Gabri Veiga as interest increases in the young midfielder.

Ibrahima Konate looks to have been making friends with reported Liverpool transfer target Khephren Thuram.

Liverpool are among the few clubs showing interest in Ajax midfielder Edson Alvarez.

Liverpool are leading the race to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves in the summer window.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz is attracting interest from some of the biggest clubs in the world, including Real Madrid, Liverpool, and Barcelona.

Liverpool are reportedly among several English clubs eyeing a potential swoop for Arsenal's teenage gem Ethan Nwaneri.

Celta Vigo president Carlos Mourino has admitted that he can do very little to stop star player Gabri Veiga from leaving this summer, after being linked with Liverpool.

A report from the Fichajes claims that Liverpool will face competition from Chelsea and Manchester United for 24-year-old French international Randal Kolo Muani.

from a piece about the England-Italy game ....

England’s triumph in Italy was down to one player (and it’s not you, Harry!)
England, for 45 minutes at least, were at the level they have long desired. And while much of that is about team balance, it’s difficult not to put some of it down to the difference made by one player. That is Jude Bellingham, an attacking central midfielder many key figures in the club game now see as genuinely unique. He certainly gives England something they have long lacked, an impetus and thrust combined with control.

In that, he has the potential to be the perfect modern midfielder. He certainly gives England a new balance, around which the entire team can revolve. It sent Italy off kilter.

They just couldn’t keep it going for 90 minutes but, as Southgate argued afterwards, that was always going to be impossible away to a team like Italy. Similarly, that midfield of Verratti and Jorginho is always going to have a long spell when they keep the ball.

Messi had also played a lot of football at that age. It’s a consequence of being really good really young. It shows what a special player he is. If Liverpool were to sign Bellingham to a 5 year contract when he’s 19 or 20, I don’t see him breaking down before the age of 25.

Liverpool's hopes of signing Jude Bellingham have been given a major boost after a report in Spain appeared to take Real Madrid out of the running altogether.

It's no secret that the Borussia Dortmund midfielder is the Reds' number one target this summer, but it has been widely reported that they face competition for his signature from both the European Champions and Manchester City.

But the latest update from Spanish sports paper Marca suggests that Los Blancos will not be doing any major business this summer, seemingly ruling out a move for the 19-year-old England international, who is expected to command a transfer fee in excess of £100million.

The claim comes after suggestions that the Brazil national team want Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti as their next head coach. But Marca believes that the former Everton boss will stay put, honouring his contract.

The report said: "As the season progresses, the Italian coach participates in all the meetings for the future of the Madrid entity. In no case has he asked for any revolution to continue in office. The last thing Ancelotti would do would be to put pressure on Real Madrid to give shape to that year of his contract with the rest.

"The first white team, in fact, will face next season without major reinforcements and many of those who rule in Valdebebas consider that Ancelotti is the ideal coach to continue in charge of the Madrid dressing room. That does not mean that objectives are not covered in the Cup and Champions League and the sporting situation invites a change on the bench."

liverpool-linked Alexis Mac Allister is "likely" to leave Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer, according to Football Insider.

It has been claimed that the World Cup-winner is set for an exit from the South Coast side as his contract dwindles. Further to the report, it says that the Argentine is "vulnerable" to bids as he enters the final two years of his contract.

Manchester City, Juventus and the Reds are 'understood' to be front runners.

I just don’t think you can use the fact that he’s played a lot of games at the age of 19 as a negative. The only reason he’s played so many games is because he is a special player. Maybe by the time he’s 29 or 30 that could be a concern, but right now I think his experience can only be seen as a good reason to sign him.

the fact that he's playing with a brace frequently isn't a positive sign, though is is it?

players who get overworked as teenagers are most likely to suffer long-term muscle problems.

btw -- of course his experience is great, but that doesn't answer my question at all. :)

According to a British football agent, Liverpool have already “submitted a bid” to Borussia Dortmund in an attempt to sign Jude Bellingham.

The Premier League club are expected to enforce a squad overhaul this summer following their disappointing season in 2022/23.

One of Liverpool’s priorities is to strengthen in midfield and Bellingham is known to be their main target. They have consistently been linked with the teenager, who is among the best young players in the world.

It will not be easy to sign Bellingham as Man City, Man Utd and Real Madrid are also being linked with him. With his contract at Dortmund not due to expire until 2025, the Bundesliga outfit can set their asking price for the midfielder as high as they like.

The competition for Bellingham could well raise his price even further and The Athletic’s David Ornstein reported earlier this month that Liverpool are ‘increasingly unlikely’ to sign him.

Despite this, British agent Haydn Dodge has claimed that an offer from Liverpool has “been submitted for Bellingham. It’s known that a bid [from Liverpool] just shy of £100m has been submitted for Jude Bellingham ahead of this summer’s transfer window,” Dodge told Caught Offside.

“A revamp in the middle of the park is exactly what Liverpool, their fans and Jurgen Klopp need so it is not surprising to see them going all out for Bellingham.”
