Think that valuation has probably gone up somewhat recently.

I am probably preaching to the choir but some of these good players will not come to Chelsea if they don’t move into the top four or win the CL. All that money does not mean squat if you are not competing in the top competitions ….

it is not unlikely that CP might stay at CFC - even if he really wants to leave ….

They just don’t have the killer mentality at present.

He's not going to stay unless he signs a new deal. The owner is going to get what he can get for him before he leaves on a free. Also, top players will still sign for Chelsea, even without CL football. They will just have to overpay to get them. Which is really nothing new.

Sigh. Sadly, I'd be ok with a United move at this point. I think their table position flatters them right now, but Pulisic fits better with their style. The risk there is that new money is coming soon . . .

It's a good move if he wants to cement his position as a well-paid bench option.
Fortunately I'm not sure that move makes sense, for either party... probably just thrown out there to fish for engagement.

10 Hag is a good coach tho. Might not materially change his playing time, but it's a better system atm. (assuming he signs the new deal, of course. Maybe Erik goes to Chelsea instead! lol.)

Agreed. If I’m a wing type player, a club with Rashford, Antony, Sancho, Garnacho and probably Pellestri is not where I’m going. Not saying they are by default better but it’s not much of a situational change from his current reality. Just a better coach

We all tend to jump to the conclusion that CP would rather be a regular starter even if it meant a drop in quality, both in terms of the team he plays for and his teammates. It could be he'd rather play for a decent team with European ambitions, a great coach, and very talented teammates even if it mean spot starts and sub minutes, rather than dropping down to a mid-table team with less quality and being an auto-starter. I think we overestimate the impact CP could have at a mid-table team. He thrives when put in a system where he works with other talented like-minded players. He struggles when he tries to put the team on his shoulders.

Long story short, maybe a better coach is all he needs/wants? But who knows, it's all speculation.

That's not to say there aren't BETTER choices than Man U though!

That’s a good point. He actually seems pretty happy at Chelsea under Potter, and is better than some of those he’s competing against for playing time. But Chelsea is still almost certain to sell him this summer, rather than offering a new contract, since their squad is so bloated. They certainly aren’t going to offload players they just brought in. They currently have Sterling, Pulisic, Ziyech, Mudryk, Madueke, Havertz, Felix, Aubameyang, Broja, Hudson-Odoi, and Lukaku under contract as attacking players, with Nkunku coming in, plus Mount and Gallagher who frequently play on the front line. I expect they’ll keep Sterling, Mudryk, Madueke, Havertz, Nkunku and possibly buy Felix, plus keep at least one of Mount and Gallagher. The rest will be sold (Pulisic, Ziyech, Aubameyang) or loaned (Lukaku, Broja, Hudson-Odoi).

Ha! Right after I posted that, I saw this. Maybe Chelsea will try to keep Pulisic after all. He does seem happy there these days.

It seems in World Football you can find any rumor about your favorite players going anywhere you want or may not want them to go.

Yeah, the Twitter comment doesn’t look legit. It just struck me that I saw that right after I posted that Chelsea would certainly sell Pulisic. Ultimately I have no idea what will happen, but I tend to think he will be sold for the reasons I mentioned - they have too many new(er) players to keep him at this point.

This tweet is garbage, unless there is a source cited....Right now the source appears to be the twitter user him/herself, notably dubbed "Puli_Era."

Doesn't mean he won't stay - but it is doubtful. I think Potter trust Pulisic to do a job to help the squad, and I think Pulisic knows he probably needs to put himself in the shop window.

If we're going to start ignoring every idiotic tweet/rumor in this thread, what are we going to do all summer?

I guess the blue checkmark is the reason the far stupider idea of him going to Man United didn't get dismissed?

if they don't get what they want ..... and other players don't come to Chelsea due to failing to be in CL next year .... I could see him staying all the way to the end on a free. Till summer of 24. But the system is all aligned such that he is very motivated for them to win now or motivated for his own excellent time on the pitch the rest of this season (to get bought for max price) ....
