I think Berardi would rise to the occasion (if he wanted it). When I see someone so painfully average like Saladmaekeres it makes me angry and I don’t even support Milan

I watch Gabbiadini score some of these goals with his left foot, and wonder if he can't be useful at the moment for the national team. I'm surprised Mancini from Roma was overlooked. And I would of definitely taken Orsolini and Locatelli as well.

LOL at Zaccagni not being in this setup. He must have boned Mancini's wife or something.

I think the story is that Zaccagni faked an injury to get out of national team duties, or exaggerated an injury....either way Mancini has never forgiven him. I don't think he's been called up since that report came out.

There was tension between both Zaccagni and Zaniolo. Zaniolo ended up also leaving with an “injury” that many people thought he was faking. I see it as Mancini taking sides. Who knows what the truth is.

There are also rumours of Gianluca Mancini not being well liked by some of the other Italy players

And maybe Gianluca Mancini did as well. Criminal that he is n
Berardi is the best offensive Italian player in Serie A the last 4-5 years or so by the numbers. Whether or not that is a function of being a featured player at Sass...or if he could come close to those numbers at a top 6 club is another question but the numbers don't lie.

He gets a lot of hate but really the only thing I can fault him for was the open goal miss against Macedonia..which was obviously huge. Otherwise he's been a solid player at the NT level

Chiesa is done for. Italia yet again robbed of a generational talent. We at least got an amazing Euro out of him and he'll always be a legend to me. But might as well call him Enriseppe Chierossi from here on out. He's cooked.

Berardi is a scape goat for a$$ hat Mancini. Which is even more hilarious considering Suckginho can solely be blamed for Italia missing the World Cup, yet I guess Italia fans love a midfielder who can't dribble, can't make key passes, takes penaties like a nutless monkey, and has arrogance the size of Brazil to keep talking to the media without any shame. And he's slower then Montoslowmo.

I don’t know how Fagioli is being left to the U21s. Such a useful player. Also I hope Mancini watched the game tonight and regretted not bringing Locatelli because he has really picked it up.

I missed what happened with Chiesa. Injury?

Only thing i can think of is midfield is stacked with the Azzurri but I do like the versatility of Fagioli. And I would of taken Locatelli too...to me our best midfield is when Loca replaced Verratti in Euro 21 but then again Loca's form was out of this world in that tournament. But who are we dropping? Christante? Pessina? Mancini clearly has his guys. And Mandragora is probably the most in form midfielder right now doing it in Serie A and Europe. We're absolutely loaded there.

Man really hope Chiesa gets it together after this year. The last two have been brutal for him.

I'm comfortable saying Mulatierri might be the closest thing we have to a Luca Toni type striker in a long time

Berardi is the inverted version of a Chiesa. His consistent performances (excellent goal contribution rate) in Serie A don't seem to translate to the NT. He is serviceable, but far from magical. Chiesa doesn't have particularly impressive stats in Serie A, but he has an intensity to his play and he seems to find an extra gear when he plays in important matches. We all seem to recognize this about Chiesa. Other countries aren't worried about Berardi like they would be with a healthy Chiesa. We know what we are getting Berardi just like with a player like Politano. They will rarely produce magic on their own for the NT but can work in our system and as part of the team

Conte sacked from Tottenham, I guess they don't like it when their coach tells it like it is. I'd be totally ok with Conte replacing Mancini, he's perfect for the NT.

He looks way skinnier than Toni and only 6'0. Toni was a tank and like 6'5. He looks more Pipo to me but who knows. Either way i hope he is in Serie A next year playing major minutes. We need all the help we can get.
