I think this is the perfect draw in a way, drawn against Chelsea, not the easiest not the toughest draw, type of team you should be able to beat for a chance to win the CL, then deal with Bayern/City who are by far the toughest opponents for us. If we get through them then we’re met with by far the easiest CL final in the last decade which we’ve played.

Every year we won the CL, they have us at 3rd or 4th among favourites at this stage. Even in final, they gave us higher chance vs Atlético only (Ironically were our toughest finals). Juve in 2017, Liverpool 2018 were favourites in their calculation.

Benz shouldn’t start if he isn’t ready to start, it would ruin all flow in attack, go with Vini, Rodrygo, Fede up front then have Benz come off the bench.
I don’t know There has to be logic to the “fix” There are only 2 PL teams left, and they each got matched up with the best 2 CL teams in the world. Why wouldn’t they give each of them an easy match up if what they want is the PL to succeed? Also, why half measures? If they want us out, why not match us up with Bayern or City off the gate? They gave us a team struggling in their own league and who is far from a favorite. I know it sounds cool and all, but we are in the final 8 and we drew freaking Chelsea. Hardly anything there to really complain about cuz that’s as “mid” as it gets when it comes to elite
I just find the coincidence of us drawing Chelsea two years in a row at the same round while being set up for a semifinal with City (the same as last year) as too much coincidence. I didn't say they specifically want the English club to win, I just feel (just as last season) they would like that anyone win besides us.
Yup, we have now played Chelsea 3 years in a row. Liverpool 3 years in a row. If we get past Chelsea then probably Man City 3 years out of the last 4. We are seriously overdue an easier draw. That said, if Bayern go all the way they will have had one of the hardest paths ever, having played Inter, Barca, PSG, City, Madrid/Chelsea, and likely one of the Italian teams in the final. But after them our path is the next hardest I think.

They use a statistical model which takes league results into account. It's akin to ELO ratings but for football, the ratings are updated after each game, and on that basis they came to those numbers. But we all should know by now that football heritage trumps statistics more often than not in the Champions League
Again, flawed, as the donnarumma blunder being called a foul would have ended it for us. Could also have called a foul on the Mendy blunder. Also if they wanted us against city why eould they make them go vs bayern first, just give them benfica. If they are match fixing in any way so we wont win, they are doing a terrible job at it.
People cite the Superleague thing as this huge "they are out to get us" reason, but the club is making UEFA money, and it's still participating in UEFA competitions, so i'm kind of feeling it's all a matter of pride now and nothing more.
With our veterans struggling for fitness/energy...It may be good to save them for CL. I hope we give what's left of the league and the Copa to Tchouameni, Camavinga, Ceballos and Fede in midfield and Rodrygo forward. Save Benz, Modric, Kroos and Carvajal for the CL as much as possible. We have nothing to lose in the league....and for the Copa it would be interesting to use a different lineup against Barca. Camavinga clearly took a step up this season.... let's get Tchoumaneni back in the mix asap and get Rodrygo going. I still believe we can get past Barca on the Copa and that would a very nice get back.... they can celebrate the Classicos ...while we could get another cup. That cup match is really going to be a final.
