I forgot about Jota. With him back, stick him central, with Luis/Darwin and Mo/Gakpo. My main point was that we’re missing the creativity that Bobby and Mane were able to bring. We miss them both. With regard to Bobby, my favorite player in the 40 years of being a fan. Love him to bits. All the best to you Bobby - brought me tremendous joy.
I wanted him signed a full year before we picked him up. I was ecstatic waking up to the news he was joining. I was disheartened watching him 'struggle' with BR. Became one of those players who was impossible to not love during his time with Klopp. The guy has never said a bad word. Has always had the joy of a child on his face when he's played. Scored some hugely important goals. And was most definitely the reason we were able to play that heavy metal football which announced us as 'back.' My favorite player of the last two decades.
Coming back to this. If Gakpo continues his development and has displays like Sunday, then I retract my original premise
'Firmino is the most complete striker in the league. I'm not talking about the best finisher or the best work-rate, I'm talking about all round. The most complete in the league' - Thierry Henry 'Any manager in the world would love to have Firmino as their centre forward. I think he’s absolutely incredible. He’s selfless, brilliant, scores goals, sets things up, they can link off him, makes all the right runs, an outstanding player.' - Gary Neville 'If you watch the game you don’t see Firmino. If you watch Firmino you see the whole game.’ Poetry. He is the man who makes Liverpool tick. He is a genius' - Peter Crouch 'Greatest player you've played with? I'm going to be a little bit biased and say one of my team-mates; I would say Roberto Firmino' - Virgil van Dijk
I came across this article from 2020 about Bobby. I love the last line. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/51815586
Bobby Firmino's talks with potential new clubs will start now. Out of respect for Liverpool, he has so far not considered other teams. ... such a class act.
I don't know about that year - because Rodgers was being a bit of a mutton-head with team tactics, but it didn't take long for him to leave Memphis behind..... (whilst whoever was managing Man Utd was still singing "by the time I get to Memphis"
Trent's reimbursing all the satanists who bought 666 last year when he was the numero-uno critics' target
