Its forcing schools to stick to teaching basic curriculum and not weird gender theory to elementary age kids
It’s forcing the schools to keep parents informed as to the status of their children
It’s preventing clinics from chemically castrating and /or removing body parts from underage children

I was watching contrapoints the first couple of years she started her channel. I stopped watching those things, because I usually watch (actually, listen) youtube to try and fall back asleep after the 2am sweats or bathroom visit.

What the hell are you even talking about? Has the Democratic Party passed legislation that forces Americans to do certain things or that's taken over curricular development in schools?

You're equating the party's stance that allows people to do what they want with the "State" taking over control of poepel's lives. It's illogical gibberish.

Did the troll actually equate Twitter not elevating content about Hunter Biden's laptop with "election tampering"?

    What an imbecile.

And when I responded to his accusation against Twitter, he immediately changed the topic to Rupert Murdoch's New York Post, as if they were part of the supposed liberal conspiracy or something.

Local school boards determine what the curriculum should be. That is how it works in America. It is not the state's duty to force schools not to teach something if it doesn't violate the Constitution.

It's a direct effort to suppress and oppress LGBT+ people and you know it.

You pretend it has nothing to do with your animosity to LGBT+ people, yet history shows us that Conservatives attack any and every aspect of LGBT+ lives and rights. They do so relentlessly. They do not believe we should have the right to exist, full stop.

Because you are ignorant of science, you seem to hold the view that people are not born LGBT+.

You have demonstrated over and over again that you do not understand the basic difference between biological sex and gender identity.

You have demonstrated over and over again you do understand how either biological sex develops or how the brain develops in utero.

You attack drag queens, you attack trans people, you attack gay people, you ignore that intersex people exist, you use your religious beliefs to justify your ignorance and belligerence toward people like me. Good grief, you even denied the reality of gay people being murdered because we exist.

You and other conservatives don't give a damn about trans children - you won't do a single thing to help them because you refuse to accept science and the reality that trans people exist.

All of these laws have one purpose: to oppress the LGBT+ community because of religion, including your religion, a religion run by the de facto largest pedophile network in the world, holds to a Near Eastern Bronze Age understanding of biology - an understanding that is in direct contradiction to science.

If you really cared about children, you would make sure Catholic priests are not allowed anywhere near them and certainly never allowed to be alone with them.

Marrying who they love. Making decisions about their bodies with the advice and consent of their medical professionals. Not getting shot while in school. Performing in drag. Reading books that are about topics that might make white people uncomfortable. Studying or teaching uncomfortable truths about race relations in this country.

    I could go on.

I think there is no one real path that drives folks away other than abject hypocrisy and people get hurt by and judged by people that feel by pointing out the sins of others, Jesus won't notice theirs...

Some people find new places, or find someplace they can "attend" on line, and some simply just go be the good folks they turned themselves into without needing a flock to hide in. Some of those people go and manage to do God's work that He calls them to do, without ever needing to talk about it or try and convice others to join up with their particular invisible friend

God did not create Oklahoma to punish the Wicked, He created it to test the Righteous

Finally, the CRT content I've been craving...

OK, so I'm bored with the troll sucking at trolling, and in general, paper tiger conservatives who never served this country and never did anything to warrant citizenship, so I'm curious about the bolded.

I'd never heard of a protestant using the Jesuits as a self-descriptor. [edit] Could you elucidate?

You know, I'm pretty sure I had at least 3-4 gay teachers growing up - couple were out, couple weren't. One of the ones that wasn't, I was walking down the cookie aisle, minding my own business, getting some fig newtons, because I love them ********ing cookies, I saw this guy kissing his boyfriend / partner / whatever, then he turned and saw me and I've never seen a look of more pure terror...

To his shock, I suppose, I just said Hey, Mr. XXXX and kept on walking

I didn't know much back then, certainly not ********ing pre-algebra, but I knew outing him would have meant the end of his job, and he wasn't a dick

When I first took my current job I was told not to reveal I was gay or I would be denied tenure. I nonetheless went to a bar that was gay one night of the week just to have a social life. The following Monday in class students were asking me about the bar I went to and why I was there. I learned immediately that if I wanted to keep my job, I could not have a "gay social life" as students are everywhere. I certainly understand the feeling of terror that your teacher would have had.

There's a brilliant Irish movie (Handsome Devil) with Andrew Scott :inlove: where he has to deal with that situation. It was spot on as he tried to make excuses and then plea bargained his way through the situation.

I had an awesome Spanish teacher in the late 80s. An impeccable dresser and fun dude. The year after I graduated he died of AIDS. Talking to a classmate they said "know why he was unshaven most days?" Me "No, why?" "He used to party in The Village till dawn and just roll into school" :D

    You are fun.

    1) I agree, that archaic, stupid, stone age "there are only two genders" IS a "weird gender theory" (not even a "theory," but a completely disproven bit of nonsense).
It should not be taught to elementary age kids.
    Good point, marek!

As for "basic curriculum," great. They should try teaching history as in what happened, not, as Rick Scott wants-
We will inspire patriotism and stop teaching the revisionist history of the radical left; our kids will learn about the wisdom of the US Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the founding fathers.
-They willl ONLY teach "revisionist history" under this plan and don't teach history.

    Rick Scott's plan:
    • Public schools will teach our children to love America because, while not perfect, it is exceptional, it is good, and it is a beacon of freedom in an often-dark world..
    • We will not allow political or social indoctrination in our schools. Teachers who refuse to comply will need to find new jobs.
Absolutely revisionist history and absolutely political indoctrination.

    2) Parents are informed, that has never stopped. Please provide evidence that parents are NOT being allowed to be informed about what is being taught. Are they not allowed to talk to the children, or contact teachers, or attend Parent-teacher conferences?

What your side wants is the horrible, anti-education concept of having parents in control of what is taught to kids.
    Rick Scott's plan:
    • Parents, not government, will choose the best schools for their kids
    • The FBI, DOJ, and all government entities will be expressly forbidden from intimidating parents who dare speak their minds at school board meetings.
So, a way to "defund education" by giving the money to private/religious schools (as tax credits), for those who can afford it and f the rest of the kids.
So, parents cannot be held responsible for ANYTHING they may say, regardless of how stupid, or reckless, or dangerous, or just plain wrong? Ah, freedom!

    3) That is not really happening, as has been discussed ad nauseum. There were 282 "underage" kids who had a mastectomy after a prior gender dysphoria diagnosis and 56 who had "genital surgery.*"
Note, there are 26,200,000 children in the US aged 12-17, so .00001% of children are having this surgery.

However, the "removing body parts" (as miniscule as it is) is only one SMALL part of how your side wants to control children and their bodies.
Again, Rick Scott's plan: Men and women are biologically different, “male and female He created them.”
    • No government forms will include questions about “gender identity” or “sexual preference.”
    • Humans are born male and female, there are two genders, and to deny that is to deny science.
    [without explaining the "science"]

Deny the very existence of anybody other than heterosexual, cisgender Americans!
How the hell does this even make sense?

Humans are also born intersex - Rick Scott conveniently ignores that.

In most Polynesian societies there are three or four genders. The Bugis of Indonesia recognize five genders. Many American Indian cultures recognized three or four genders. Why does Rick Scott think ancient Near Eastern cultures were right and everyone else wrong? Yes, I know the answer - because the Bible says so - the same Bible that says the sun stopped in the sky for many hours and that almost all life ended around 2400 BCE, even though Egyptian and Sumerian civilizations seemed to continue on without issue at that very time.

Rick Scott clearly has no understanding of what science actually says and clearly no understanding that sex and gender are different and don't always align. If he did, he wouldn't be as stupid as he is. I still use a quote he made as governor where he effectively wanted to steer people away from Anthropology to more "useful" subject areas. It was pretty clear he didn't like Anthropology because Anthropology is the field that shows his understanding of the Bible is absolute nonsense fit only for children who believe in Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy.

Rick Scott clearly stated that to disagree with him is to "deny science."
Why do you continue to "deny science" by discussing science? ;)

1 - More money and more regulation are definitely better than any alternative. There are plenty of good data on that.
2 - That you think that is the only solution, particularly from me, particularly from our discussion, shows you totally missed the point.
3 - If that is all you got, you don't understand educaiton.

And you still don't understand people not like you.

Well, to be fair, his "science" is actually "creation science", whereas my science is actual science. I'm more than happy to deny his "creation science"!

Obviously teachers force children to undergo sex changes without the parents knowing about it in an effort to further the "gay agenda" so that drag queens can molest them. Isn't it obvious?

    lol.

Truly independent people are very, very rare. Like Ted Kaczynski-type rare.
But in this corner of the world, if you read through all the threads, you will see that we don't tow whatever line it is you think we tow. We have some centrists. We have some social liberals, economic conservatives. We have some run of the mill Democrats. We have some left leaning Democrats. We have some lefties. We have older Democrats. We have younger Democrats. We have lefty foreigners. We have a furry. And we have our range of those willing to befriend those who have opposing political views to those who want the opposing to die. But, across the board, we listen to science and research. Good science and good research often gives us pause, and we regularly have to re-evaluate our positions.

You should try and understand us, who are not people like you. It will do you better.
