Cocca would suck. Status quo coach that will choose the safe, old, boring lineup. We’d always be looking to score early in order to be able to play classic Cocca long ball to a tall petardo, hoping that he holds onto the ball long enough for the rest of the team to catch up. I can already see Chaka booting the ball up to Funes Mori against France in the 2026 WC.
Even Jimmy Lozano would’ve been better than Cocca. What a joke, the federation doesn’t even know what it wants.
Jaime has a future but managing kids to the main team is a huge jump. He has a bright future for sure, just not now. As for Cocca, he's not my first or second choice, but if it's him at least it's someone who has won recently.

Definitely surprised by the selection, I was kind of settling into Almada being the guy and a little encouraged by his work with younger players, but not not surprised by how it was handled. These FMF business types just can’t help themselves. Let’s be real though. The guys with power to make the decision aren’t really interested in bringing in someone that can shake things up, ruffle feathers and change momentum. They want status quo. Cocca is as good as any to deliver that. All the fanfare, delay, leaks and red herrings just to be the dog that gets up, makes a circle and lays down in the same place.
True, but I was talking more about styles. You always hear about how they want the team to play attractive fútbol. Well this guy ain’t it.
