Sloppy game by us but also sloppy overall as the field conditions are just terrible. Credit to Bochum who are just putting out relentless pressing on our guys as soon as they get the ball. We were really unlucky to not be up by more goals as Haller and Bynoe-Gittens should have scored as well.
A hard fought 2:1 win in the end. Not pretty but I am definitely a lot more confident in the team moving forward as they showed a great defensive structure today and played with grit and tenacity that allowed them to see the one goal advantage through without Bochum every truly threatening them as the vas majority of their shots were long range futile attempts really. Ozcan and Can were very good today.
Game ends 2:1 for us. I missed most of the match. I wasn't exactly happy about how much control Bochum had towards the end but it was a good team effort to defend the lead until end and they matched the physicality well.
I thought it was a bit of a crazy game --the parts I watched. We created a good amount of chances. Haller, JBG, Jude should have scored, or passed to a better positioned player. Since the return from the break, we're playing more often with 3 central midfielders than before the break. I wonder if that is the catalyst. For one, it gives Jude more freedom to go up and press higher.
Decent game... didn't like the lineup, feel like Brandt has been overplayed, he looks exhausted. Same with Haller, maybe a little too soon for him to be running 70 minutes in consecutive games ? Would have liked to have seen Reyna and the Greedy-koko start instead.
