FC Barcelona vs Sevilla La Liga | J20 Date: Feb 5, 2023 Venue: Camp Nou, Barcelona Squad List Standings Up next is Sevilla at home. Barca are on a 4 game winning streak and another win will keep 2nd place Madrid at a safe distance. Sevilla have climbed out of relegation zone with 3 wins in the last 4 games and now sit 14th on the table. In the away match Barca beat Sevilla 3 x 0. Balde had a fever and was doubtful but he has been included in the squad list. No new injures or suspensions from the last game.
looks like sevilla are lining up with 5 central midfielders - rakitic, oliver torres, gueye, jordan and gudelj - packing the midfield to counter xavi's gavi-pedri-frenkie-sergio foursome.
https://streamff.com/v/Oip1w4mb7 What a well composed trap and pass by Kessie! And lovely finish by Alba!
It’s a rout! 3-0. What a pass from Frenkie. From a possible 2-point lead earlier today to a 8-point lead now. Let’s go.
Great game from Alba. One of my favorite left-backs ever in his heyday. I still think Balde should het the nod this season, he’s earned it and other than today Alba has looked suspect. Luxury problem for Xavi.
They really should change the rules and start crediting players with assists for passes like that. Barca in cruise control
Hopefully it is still 8 points after the next round of games. But @Villarreal is Barca's toughest remaining away match and LPB host last place Elche. Its a shame that Vinny Jr's suspension is served when they probably won't need him. But then Barca has the lighter schedule for the 4-5 weeks that follow the next round.
Yes, it was a really nice trap and then pass to Kessie. To be honest, that cross to Raphinha is terribly misplaced. It should have been played a little ahead of him on his head for an easy tap in header but it's played way short. Raphinha didn't have a great showing overall before the 1st goal, but then was crucial having been part of all 3 goals. Hopefully that gives him more confidence going forward.
And that was the PK vs. Espanyol, so no goals scored against us from open play at Camp Nou in Liga play. Sadly not the same record at home in CL. EDIT - but I actually came to post this Gavi image, so wholesome when he goes to hug his injured teammate, Dembele!
Good summary from Sid Lowe at the Guardian: https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...lla-real-madrid-la-liga-blog?CMP=share_btn_tw less promising, can Kessie replace Busi during injury:
