No english teenager has made more interceptions in Europe this season than Charlie Patino (27).He also sits just one behind Jude Bellingham on goal involvements (4). 🔥— Squawka (@Squawka) January 7, 2023 Arsenal’s Charlie Patino - looks like he can do what he did at youth level 👏 pic.twitter.com/t4ECPIu0p2— TheSecretScout (@TheSecretScout_) January 7, 2023 No player on the pitch made more successful tackles (4) than Charlie Patino and the 19-year-old won more aerial duels (4) than any other Blackpool teammate. He only played 68 minutes. 🍊 pic.twitter.com/DU0X1AxH2G— Squawka (@Squawka) January 7, 2023
Great to see him adding a bit of grit to his game. Reminds me a bit of Beckham at Preston North End (for a bit of nostalgia Barry.)
Liam Delap set to be recalled by City after his dad has left the club which is a terrible look for all parties involved in that deal. Apparently set to be loaned out again which will be an interesting choice, I don't think a top end League One side would necessarily be the worst move for him and give him a better chance to get among the goals and position himself for next season, but I expect another championship move.
Best of luck to Malcom Ebiowei, who has gone on loan to Hull City for the rest of the season. Not been able to get enough minutes this first part of the season 👏 #CPFC pic.twitter.com/e2GAMTTNj1— TheSecretScout (@TheSecretScout_) January 19, 2023
Jarrell Quansah has moved on loan to Bristol Rovers in League One. Very interested to see how he does. He was arguably our best player in the under 19 euro's and a big talent, though difficult to tell how much he benefited from being so physically imposing. Two of the best centre backs at that level have been 2003 born Caleb Taylor and 2001 Eiran Cashin (who's with Ireland right now) so it'll be interesting to see how Quansah does. Expectation would be he should stand out like they do. Interestingly seems Ronnie Edwards has struggled somewhat this season in comparison, reportedly struggling with the physicality of league one.
#Wolves have been in talks with #BristolCity over a deal for England under-20 midfielder Alex Scott - as it stands, looking unlikely due to a £25m price tag. Wolves are very keen to sign Scott this month but will move on unless current asking price drops #wwfc— John Percy (@JPercyTelegraph) January 10, 2023 Apparently he'll remain at Bristol City for the rest of this season but will almost certainly be moving in the summer. Noticed Patino scored a consolation goal against Southampton in the FA Cup. If you look at the Blackpool forums it hasn't all been smooth sailing for the lad, there are concerns over his relative lack of physicality in the Championship. I wondered whether Mick McCarthy would appreciate this type of midfielder but it sounds like the player is staying at Blackpool. We'll see if they can get out of the relegation zone but obviously won't make the play-offs, so if Patino avoids injury he will be available for Indonesia. Hopefully his loan there goes better than it did for Harvey Vale who was recalled. Hull fans actually seem more impressed by the other Chelsea loanee Xavi Simons. His debut for Bristol Rovers was a 5-1 defeat at Morecambe! He turned 20 the day after so it was definitely time for Quansah to play league football. Callum Doyle is in the Championship and performing pretty well given his age, although I think Coventry playing with a back three helps. Their fans prefer him to Panzo. The other central defender in this squad Bashir Humphreys was loaned to the German second tier.
League Two as well for Charlie McNeil 📝 𝗗𝗘𝗔𝗟 𝗗𝗢𝗡𝗘: Newport County have signed Charlie McNeil from Manchester United on loan for the rest of the season. #DeadlineDay pic.twitter.com/guu6qPeLCb— Football Tweet ⚽ (@Football__Tweet) January 31, 2023
Sublime from Alex Scott. He’s some player. Scott - Wells - Bell - Goal pic.twitter.com/GB8VH0GHAf— Bristol City Football Analysis (@AnalysisBCFC) February 4, 2023
Is Samuel Bell another player who has just emerged who could be a potential call up? Never heard of him before tbh
I think any uncapped player who is eligible for the U21s and scoring at that level is worth looking at for the next campaign. It hasn’t quite gone to plan for a number of our highly rated strikers thus far. Josh Coburn is another one to look out for.
Alex Scott vs Preston. Not many clips in an ugly game, but he played well pic.twitter.com/8lyJPMJKk4— Bristol City Football Analysis (@AnalysisBCFC) February 4, 2023
His inevitable move in the summer will be very important. You could just as easily see him making the England squad next summer, as you can him moving to someone like Spurs and being in the reserves all season. The under 20 world cup he will hopefully play in is a real opportunity for the spotlight. Speaking of which, given the timing it will be interesting to see our squad. The assumption would be anyone in top tier squads or play off teams won't make it which at present would leave us without: Bashir Humpreys, Luke Chambers, Chukwuemeka, Aaron Ramsey, Edozie, Iling-Jnr, Bynoe-Gittens, and Shoretire of people who've played with this group before. Ronnie Edwards is just outside the play offs right now also. Basically it will cause a big headache for the side as it takes basically every wide option we have in this group out of contention (though we didn't really use them much in the Euro's either). Chukwuemeka would also be a big miss. A big factor I would guess is whether or not the under 19's qualify for their euro's as some of them could supplement the team. Also raises the question if we should even call up the people who will clearly not be able to play to the next friendlies and instead try out new options.
Yeah for sure not Spurs, or Leeds. Liverpool would probably give him a chance. Still, I'm not sure there's a rush. I think he should stay and try and be part of a promotion push next season.
Wolves offered £20m for him in the window apparently but Bristol wanted £25m so there was no deal. They’re supposed to come back in the summer for him.
Agree generally. It would be a pretty big investment for them though so you’d think he’d get played. I think somewhere like Forest with Cooper would be ideal. As Snrub says, his next move really needs to be right. As a player he has so many attributes. His hero is Grealish and you can see that in how he plays with his socks and dribbling style - but he’s much more versatile than Grealish. He plays more of defensive role a lot of the time but plays CM and AM as well. I can’t think of a neat comparison to another player and it will be annoying when everyone compares him to Grealish all the time when he steps up. People are already calling him the ‘Guernsey Grealish’.
He's a proper all rounder, he's not as good as him obviously but he's cut from the same cloth as Bellingham. Actually think Newcastle is the best realistic move for him, as long as they don't go too mental with summer signings.t Their midfield is an area for obvious improvement, particularly Longstaff, and Howe always liked to sign young championship players at Bournemouth so he's very much in the profile of players he likes and has used. Liverpool could potentially be interesting but I suspect their midfield will be in for a major upgrade in the summer which would make things difficult.
