Che's body type is much different than I thought. I take back comments about him being limited to more central/defensive roles.
Congratulations, guys!#TSG have promoted the next two talents to the first team. Umut Tohumcu and @JustinChe6 are now permanent fixtures of manager André Breitenreiter's squad. pic.twitter.com/zPajNFWqlk— TSG Hoffenheim EN (@tsghoffenheimEN) January 18, 2023
FCD doing it right. Selling youngsters when appropriate offers come in (Richards, Pepi, Reynolds, Tessmann, etc.), but also providing big financial incentives for their own homegrown players to stay. Ferreira is a DP. One wonder whether Pomykal has now filled the DP spot vacated by Jara. Two homegrown academy players as DPs would be awesome. The embodiment of the FC Dallas way.Homegrown Paxton Pomykal has signed a new four-year contract with a club option for the 2027 season.— FC Dallas (@FCDallas) January 18, 2023
FCD first team scrimmage today. Smith and Parker at fullback. Kamungo right wing. Norris at CB. He's legitimately 4th centerback. Unless they sign somebody, he's gonna make gameday rosters. Dallas being Dallas they drafted '01 forward Endeley from Indiana in the first round. First scrimmage? Right back! here's my guess at the teams in the 4-3-3. pic.twitter.com/hjLQN57k3j— 3rd Degree (@3rdDegreeNet) January 20, 2023
Oh vis-a-vi Norris' place on the depth chart, I forgot about the CB they signed from the Croatian League. So strike that. Barring injuries, Norris will be with NTSC.
Very cool. While FCD has a lot of good Academy coaches, IMO Alex Aldaz is the best one. #respect FC Dallas Academy Coach Alex Aldaz to Join U-17 USA MYNT Coaching Staff for Concacaf Championship https://t.co/B73veGURbO— 3rd Degree (@3rdDegreeNet) January 24, 2023
FCD lost 1-0 to Ecuador's Barcelona in their second preseason game of the year. Thread-eligible players to see the field included: '02 W Bernie Kamungo, '03 FB Collin Smith, '02 FB Isaiah Parker, '05 Tarik Scott (seems like they're mostly using him as a W for now), '05 Nolan Norris (used exclusively as a CB so far in preseason and appears to be ahead of new guy Amet Korca in the depth chart), '04 NTX ST Pablo Torre, '06 Academy CM Ale Urzua, and '02 NTX CM Andre Costa.
Kids playing above age-group in these: Eyestone, Outman, Cortalessa, Swann. #FCDallas U19s remain undefeated. #DTID head coach Nico Estévez said Tarik Scott, who made his unofficial debut against Malmö FF on Friday before suffering an early injury, got an MRI and "could have a severe injury," but FCD will leave the final diagnosis to doctors back in Dallas after more testing.— Jonathan Check (@checkjfooty) February 6, 2023
CONCACAF released quasi-final rosters for the upcoming U17 championship. Three confirmed FCD Academy kids made rosters: Malachi Molina looks to be the starting RB for Jamaica, Nayrobi Vargas will probably start for Honduras as a #9, and Ian Charles will probably get one game as Puerto Rico joins the competition in the knockout rounds. John Lutin, a GK for FCD's non-Academy youth teams, is on home team Guatemala's roster but is listed as a player for "Chimaltenango FC", a Guatemalan club. ST Sean Albritton is listed as an FC Dallas Academy player but has played for Texans for two seasons (I think). Oh, and Julian Eyestone is an alternate for the US.

I know why, but I think it is odd that a lot of fans have essentially written off Dante Sealy. He's still 19.
I think it's because they were so young when signed everyone thinks they're older than they actually are. He has a lot of Reynold's style athleticism and lots of teams are interested in that. He just needs time to "get" it as he just shows flashes.

Interesting path. He used to coach Flower Mound High School in DFW. [Won two state titles, which is damn difficult in Texas. Made the playoffs like 15 straight years. Powerhouse program. I think he won a National Title there.] Moved to Dallas in 2015, and has served as the Director of Coaching on the Boys Academy side. Coached various academy teams over the years. Maybe the 19s most recently. Has a UEFA A coaching license.
