Would be great if Alzate could go to Genk!

Not sure they'd do it but any of the good clubs in Portugal would be great for him, Sporting, Braga seem possible Porto and Benfica probably not but think it would be a great move for him for those other two teams.

thats cool. At least he's not like most english players who would rather go and play for a meaningless team in the 5th division of england than play for anyone outside of the country

Great news. I had hoped he'd go to Seria A but really what matters is that he play.

No complaints here. Belgium worked great for the Genk trio.

For Colombia, I only care that Alzate will (most likely) be getting consistent minutes since he plays the position I feel is the most needing.

Alzate's getting his first start for Standard today. It's on espn+, for those who have it.

Got his second start and had a really pretty assist on Standard's 3rd goal.

I hope so! Don't see him breaking into Brighton midfield if they keep Caicedo and McAllister, but he is a potential fit for NT while we wait to see if Puerta or Colorado become something or Atuesta finds minutes...

Buonanotte just debuted for Brighton today too, a highly rated young argie. Caicedo will more than likely leave in the summer but even so I don't see him playing much

I don't imagine they'll ask for much for him either, also don't know where he would sign but hopefully not an english team

Wouldn't mind, personally, if he just stayed in Belgium.

Solid team. Great fanbase. And he's already one of their better players.

me neither, but I just don't know if they could afford a fee from an EPL team? I also don't know what the situation is with his salary and whether he's being paid by Brighton or Standard

I personally have always liked the way this guy plays, one of the few good things Queiroz did was bringing this guy to Colombia

Agreed. He is on a loan with no option to buy I think so I'd imagine they are paying a fee but BHA is paying his wages...

I'd love to see him in Seria A, think the league would fit his skills well.

I didn't realize Belgium had so many births into European competition. After looking at their table your are right that its not a bad idea at all.

I think Caicedo is as good as gone this summer, he's on criminally low wages and Brighton are a selling club so they'll let him go and he's in high demand, Macallister will be in high demand as well and imo not too far behind. I think with De Zerbi Alzate will get a chance in the summer, and if the chance arrives with those 2 potentially on the way out in the next year I think Alzate should take it. There isn't a lot of better places to get showcased right now and Alzate has the ability to do it and with De Zerbi he should get a fresh look, there is no shame in losing out to Macallister, Caicedo and Bissouma but good chance Brigthon will have to starting from square one again in the summer.

I think they believe in him. He has started a lot of games with Brighton. He got injured and lost his spot. Guy is young and still has time.

There isn't really any shame in him going to Belgium for minutes, a year later and all the midfielders ahead of him (after he had an injury of course) are basically super high regarded and accomplished and the team is flying. Go to preseason and see what De Zerbi thinks and if he's wanted stay and see if it works if not lots of teams will be scouting Brighton players and he'll get a good shot somewhere.

Caicedo is definitely gone, he nearly left this past window to Arsenal for a massive fee

Quiet game from Steven in the 2-2 tie with Anderlecht, but this tweet made me laugh...

I think he can play at Brighton, Caicedo is gone this Sumer and Macallister is probably not far behind. If they're still there then obviously he should move on, but he has the game imo.
