There's a reason why we got in the habit of putting all the crappy beer in the cooler outside and saving the better things in the cooler inside the car. The term "Krypto-cooler" was formed from this.
We must have gone on the same night. My buddy also ordered a Guinness, after we got our food was told, they were out and asked if we want something else. a little later he got the Guinness, and we didn't pay for drinks. I feel like we went there for an away game watch party it was warm enough to have the garage doors opened.
Mrs KG and I do the first one pretty regularly. We've varied HB with Chick-fil-a (she loves peach shakes) and Panera.
My recommendations for casual family friendly restaurants/bars, with decent food, good atmosphere, near parking garages, and within walking distance to Lower.com Field; Arch City Tavern (excellent Short North bar with great food and good atmosphere, 20 min walk) Mac's (Scottish Pub) Barley's (one of Frankie's hangouts, micro brewery w/ good food) Marcella's (Italian) Agave & Rye (tacos) Moran's (good bar food, close to arena-10 min. walk to stadium) Buca di Bepo (Italian chain-short walk to stadium) Ted's: (great burgers, hard to get a table, short walk to stadium) Nada (excellent Mexican restaurant, killer margarita's, short walk to stadium-make a reservation)
This is the best place for pay-parking in my Opinion. Egress is very easy with limited traffic. We’ve taken the kids (1 and 6 at the time) to games but I’m not sure I can offer much advice as we have left the game before final whistle. Part-timers we are.
I think $20. And it’s only if they don’t have an event I believe. So, not an exact science here but it’s the best when it works.
$20 and cash only. I may have told the person taking money once that I had to run to the ATM to get cash but I never returned.
Hey, my wife tried to do the same thing (asked to go to an ATM) attendant was like don't worry about just park for free.
Or you can park upstream and kayak to the game Beautiful new paddlesports lockers and boat ramp completed by @ColsRecParks on the lower Olentangy steps from @LowerFieldCbus means in addition to the bike option from @GrangeAudubonOH I can fulfill my dream of Kayaking to a #Crew96 match this season! 🛶 ⚽️ pic.twitter.com/iuCC7xmb9c— Jeremy Baiman (@jeremybaiman) February 4, 2023
Wouldn't it make more sense to park downstream so that you have an easier trip back to your car after the game?
That's definitely the easier paddle to and from. Up stream from LDC would not be too much fun and sometime river is too low. Plus boat ramp/river access is much easier. I'd be down to paddle to a game from Sciota Audobon.
This goes with my long term plan of buying a couple of boats and having people pay to boat from Land Grand to/from games.
