James skillset can age him into a roll that gives him a lot of longevity. He had flashes of it at Bayern but playing as a deep playmaker James can be excellent with a Pirlo type roll. We'd need the right mix of really energetic midfielders around him and at least one who can break out of midfield to make runs to support the attack but I do think with our current lack of midfield and his skillset James is still a starter if we're smart.

I think I read he might have left the last game injured? What's the latest?

nice, if he can stop being injured for more than a few weeks maybe he can hit double digits by the end of the season

I like how James is training back to be discilpine, I hope he can continue this path and end up being in NT until next world cup.

Too bad he wasted so many years as a diva.

I hate Rueda and Benitez... This guy was absolutely still playing at a high level right before the last Copa America and in the prem...

Everton have really shown how much of a mess they are, and in all honesty appointing Benitez was the first real brain dead move. You spend a ton to sign James then you hire a coach who hates him? And not only that he's a beloved manager of your arch rivals and on top of all of that you fire him not long after to hire a below average manager in Frank Lampard?

Rueda tried to set the tone right away and lay down a marker, can't really blame him but he needed James much more then James needed him tbh.

its too late for him at this point, if he's lucky he can be decent for a few seasons at best and then he'll end up here at Miami

Yes. Greece is the right spot for now. My point was simply rewatching those Everton performances and understanding how much Rueda and Benitez created this stigma that he was washed that summer and led to his being inactive for half a year... leading to him being so out of shape when we needed him.

He seems to miss too many big games. Mina, James, a few others. Just can't count on them. Even Sinisterra is starting to worry me.

Sini's is weird because outside of the major injury at Feyenoord, he played a lot of games.

James and Mina have always had injury tendencies - just are so talented....

Can't help but to wonder if Mina's are related to his stature and how huge he is

    Why is James leaving Olympiacos?

The 90-times capped Colombia international started the 2022-23 season in spectacular fashion in the Greece but injuries in the last three months have limited his impact in recent times. Top management at Olympiacos were hoping to extend his current deal before he was hit by fitness issues but have performed a U-turn due to James’ high wages and underperformance over the course of the campaign.
