This needs Stern punishment. Immediate strip of assets and direction to charitable causes. I suggest Madrid as a very good location for Erling Håland to recover from these traumatic news.

a 4 year investigation by the PL is no small fry. This feels different to the usual silly fines and suspended points penalties handed out in English football.

reckon they could be in real trouble here

There were always strong rumours when Mancini was in charge that he and the players had 2 employment contracts with the Man City owners. One with the club, and one with Abu Dhabi state oil companies as random low level but highly paid employees of those

We all know the English can't be bought so no doubt the stiff fine (redistributed to all FA higher up memebers) and the public denouncing will be the swift reckoning which will be example to and for all.

    Ahahahaa

This isn't a rumor it has been proven. Current players have been proven to have dual contracts. They literally pay wages under the table to stockpile these enormous teams full of talent and your FA knows and won't do anything but accept a large hush payment (in the form of a "fine") to be shared.

@martynziegler now reports that “Man City will not be able to appeal any sanction to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, the one which overturned the UEFA ban.

    City in the mud.

Under Premier League rules Man City will NOT be able to appeal any sanction to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (which overturned the UEFA ban).

    [Martyn Ziegler]

No UEFA to give back handed payments to this time.

They’ll get the Juventus treatment no doubt.

and the charges only go up to 2018 because from 2018 onwards City have refused to cooperate. Will be interesting to see whats uncovered in those if they ever see the light of day

I would be extremely surprised if anything note worthy comes from this. Maybe a fine the equivalent to a decent defender they would by. Nothing that's going to make them regret anything they've done.

They don't need to buy CAS when the PL, politicians.... heck the entire country is bought.

They will get there "massive" fine which will amount to nothing to them and they will continue onward doing even worse (as they have since they blocked the EPL seeing their books).

Is the Premier League itself making these allegations or some independent entity? Because I think the PL would like to keep this on the low. Theoretically they could make retroactive point deductions and strip their titles but I think the PL wouldn't want to undermine a decades worth of results. 100 financial infarctions is serious though and this can't go unpunished. Maybe a big "fine" and a transfer ban for a year or two. Still a slap on the wrist considering all the success they've had.

City could face the Juve punishment.

    Stripping of titles
    Points deduction
    Expulsion from the league

FA know a fine won’t bother City.

4 years in the making and seems FA have done their homework.

You’d be worried if you were a City fan right now.

City will most likely have to give up 5 happy meal toys or so and things will keep moving. The Premier League scandal management is on another level. Player poaching scandal was shoved under the carpet as well.

I think you meant to write "should" in place of "could". Nothing is going to happen to City. Nothing significant anyway.

Only way they get a point deduction is late in the season IF Arsenal are all but confirmed champions. Most likely a £50m fine.

Personally I think it’s a bit beyond that now.

There is talk of Pep walking away if he find the club has lied and is even odds-on to not be city manager come start of next season.

Feels there is a lot more to this that will come out over the next few days

Also Liverpool are also 10th place and far from 4th place. If they won’t play CL.. this might may be a crucial factor

There is a quote from Pep being questioned about accusations of Man City's dealings a year or two ago and he said he'd walk if he found out the club lied to him. But I can't think he didn't imagine that there isn't shady business behind the scenes. Just a question of how much and how bad. That's just Pep covering his ears and looking the other way. If he doesn't know details, he can play innocent. Players and managers never really care too much about that part of the business, where the money is coming from, unless somebody else exposes it. If you've been involved in the sport long enough, you know there is all sorts of shady dealings that go on.
