What an absolute abortion of a match start to finish. This league’s an embarrassment.

And the club has not done enough to field a fully competitive squad. We’ve basically played the season without a striker.

Personally all i can say is feel free to continue to wallow in the doom and gloom, i expect if we can pull something off and win a trophy you'll be one of the disappearing crew, just like last season, i'll just back my team, seems like a more interesting positive thing to do

That's the thing. There's no wallowing in doom and gloom at all. The criticism here is very valid. Pessimism (considering the state of our team) is also very valid.

The problem is exactly you: The "everything is fine" crowd who thinks that any criticism or pessimism = doom and gloom.

If you think we can beat Barcelona in two matches and win the CdR, cool! I honestly doubt it.

If you think we can reach them in the league, cool! I'd like to see the rationale behind it.

UCL is our competition, and I think we can beat Liverpool. Anything past that point is a lot to ask from this team. And it's fine. Transition seasons are necessary.

I just want fighting spirit and creativity. I know it is a transition season. If titles are unlikely, I want to be entertained.

    doom and gloom rant over.

We have no luck this season and lots of injuries, thin squad, Benz missing lot of games, Barca hardly get concede goals..fuc*** 7 goals , 3 of them against us in 20 games

LOL @ Identify the person. You had the whole stadium chanting "Mono" at him at one point.

But one that’s necessary and not even to protect Vini or other current players. We are entering a dangerous zone when behavior like this is normalized because it happens so often and so publicly. It will trickle down to other facets of society

The sad part is I heard it on live tv, but I started to doubt myself because the commentators just never mentioned it so I started to doubt myself.

It’s the other way round though.

Racism doesn’t start in football stadiums for it to trickle down to society. Society has groups that are shit people who racially abuse others and that trickles into football stadiums.

Football bodies should set the example of punishing the behaviour and protecting players where they can, in what is their place of work. A topic that’s been debated here a lot, some posters saying that football can’t change society with matters like this but then ignore the fact that football has a long reach and influence in young lives and punishing racism would make at least a small impact / set an example.

This happens in basically every away game now but let it be known that this is not a problem with Spain at all. :D
