To be fair to Enzo he's surrounded by a much lesser squad than he's used to, and managed by a rube.

Considering Enzo and Mudrik probably don't know everyone's names, James hasn't played much in months and Ziyech thought he would be playing Paris I'm not surprised they looked "disjointed" ;)

Still produced the better chances and probably deserved the three points, even with all the turmoil, over the team sitting sixth in the table.

Cucho would be the best striker on Chelsea. Not even a troll. He cost $10 million.

Maybe Chelsea should higher Bez if all Chelsea cares about is cups and not winning leagues. He could do that for under €1 billion.

Similar for my Gladbach. We got 9 mil euros out of Bayern for a 19 game contract for Sommer. But they were desperate for a keeper (and I'll bet Neuer is gone even if he does recover).

Not even born on third base, just got there by chance and error, thinks he hit a triple.

You realized you claimed turmoil right? After a massive infusion of cash? After a half a billion spent? After immunity from FFP regulations? Thoughts and prayers for your turmoil.

Honestly, true English born Chelsea fans I've met have a sense of humor, or at least an ounce of self awareness about their club. Ohio kids, desperate to hitch their wagon to someone else's success, not so much.

This wagon has been hitched for quite a while skippy.

I love the hate Chelsea gets. Makes me laugh because it’s mostly jealousy that Roman and now Boehly aren’t shy when it comes to player expenditures.

Yeah, some will work out and some won’t, whatever, it isn’t my money.

You get me wrong. I don't hate Chelsea. I have reason to love Chelsea for their Italian history, for the trophies brought to them by Italian and Portuguese managers, for having some of my favorite players of all time....Drogba, Gudjohnsen, Anelka, Vialli in the past.....guys like Jorginho, and now Joao Felix and Enzo in the present.

It's not Chelsea I hate. It's the American based fans, unable to view the team objectively, less than knowledgable and insulting of what has made Chelsea a competitive club for the past two decades, and unwilling to admit their ignorance and learn ask and learn from those more knowledgable about what would help their mercenary club.

Please take it to DM if you two need to continue the personal back-and-forth. That includes passive aggressive thinly veiled personal digs. You're welcome to talk about the soccer transfer market but personal attacks and back and forth will be removed. You've made your points and it's just on repeat now.

    [MOD EDIT]

Regarding the transfer market and the finer points of UEFA Governance, it was announced yesterday Roma will need to exclude Ola Solbakken from it's UEFA Europa League squad, allegedly for running afoul of UEFA FFP regulations regarding the overall cost of the registered squad. Ola Solbakken arrived on a free transfer from European Football Overlords Bodo/Glimt in Janiuary.

For the 22-23 season Roma has spent 9 million on incoming transfers and made 52 million on outgoing transfers.

For comparison, lets look at other clubs around Europe near the top of the table and a mid table club like Roma, numbers from transfrmrkt....

Napoli - 68 million spent, 80 million in sales.

Arsenal - 192 million spent, 24 million in sales

Chelsea - 611 million spent, 67 million in sales

Bayern Munich - 145 million spent, 104 million in sales

Barcelona - 158 million spent, 39 million in sales

It's good system we have here, UEFA....

Did a Roma employee run over the UEFA president's dog?

No, but FFP regulations were timed perfectly to disrupt Italian dominance in Europe. There is obviously a revenue component which is skewed by television revenue by which means English clubs are playing on a different plane than everyone else in Europe. (And of course, Italy being Italy they are decades behind in media rights and actually promoting their league). This in the end really makes English clubs success in European competitions much less impressive than relative Italian or Portuguese success or even Spanish and German successes. Anyone looking at it objectively can realize that when certain clubs are essentially playing by different rules, they have a leg up. In the end, to be honest, that's what has made following the Italian and Portuguese leagues so much more rewarding and interesting to me. You actually have to go through the work of building a project, establishing a club identity, and showing some patience for any semblance of sustained success. It's not something that is remedied in one or two transfer windows. It rewards those who understand the complexities of the sport and value competition.

Supposedly, the Bochum-Bayern game next weekend will be on CBS Sports Network next weekend (it's listed on my channel guide).... at 7 am (which is too early). I am puzzled. I did not know ESPiN was working with CBS and the time is wrong (by 2.5 h). There's a blank on the CBS schedule page from 8:30 to 10:30 (which is still an hour early).

Sure it's not the Frauen Bundesliga? CBS seems to have all of the women's leagues rights.

I'll look. But that game does match the men's schedule, except for time.

Edit: Bochum is not in the Frauen-BL

My listings (DIRECTV Stream) have Bayern Frauen vs. 1.Frauen-Fusball-Club Frankfurt in that time slot.

This is usually correct but this one feels different from the sheer number of allegations and the statement made by Pep.

    I guess we will see.
