Starting XI: Lloris, Romero, Dier, Davies, Royal, Hojbjerg, Bentancur, Perisic, Kulusevski, Kane, Son. No start for Porro, maybe he'll come on against tired legs. Richi and Danjuma on the bench too.
Pretty well how we usually play against them, they have all the possession, they give the ball away playing out from defense and we score. A few concerns though, we are also giving the ball away trying to play out from the back and have missed some counterattacking opportunities with some poor passing. Romero (for a really idiotic challenge on Haaland) and Bentancur are on yellows for us.
A long way to go yet, so I shouldn't say it ... but we've kept our shape and defended quite well today.
More than the result it was a very solid 90 minutes. Royale was shockingly good. Son looked closer to his old self. Other than Grealish City were made to look pedestrian. Stellini for manager
I tuned in for the whole thing. Usually that means we lose (because my aura is that strong!). Weirdly, we played well. Does Conte have another gall bladder that needs extracting?
No Kane and three goals, no Conte and a win against the league champions. We won't fail without them. Right, are we now going to have a good second half of the season an is Arsenal now going to start failing? Let's see. We've done our normal home job on City and I believe it's Leicester next away. Get a good win there and we might be off and running.
Traditionally, we have had a good record against them. There was a stretch when the petro-criminals came in that they gave us quite a few hidings, but since Poch we have given them all kinds of problems. Another poor game from Romero, a really stupid sending-off. I think a couple of games on the bench would do him good.
It's not exactly 'can we play you every week' but 'can we play like that every week'? If we could I think we'd be happy at the end of the season. Just some lovely counter-attacking stuff in the second half, paired with solid defending, it actually felt a bit comfortable at times. Most un-Tottenham. Special mentions to Hojbjerg and Royal for their contributions both ways. Hope that riled you up, City, maybe you should go on and win the league now, huh?
