It's like "dog bites man" or "sun rises in the east." I wouldn't want it any other way [unfortunately and unintentionally until I realized it was too late that I was quoting Billy Joel].

I just want the deals done early. The best team is a prepared team, lets get it done early so the squad gets a full pre-season together.

Getting Rice will depend on where WHU finish up, the lower the better. They will keep their grumpy old manager another season though.

Are you intentionally thick or does stupidity run in your family? It takes some really special learning deficiencies to read what I wrote and arrive at that conclusion.

Leave Chelsea and United to bid up the Rice price north of 100m and try to sign Zubimendi for his 55m release clause, or give Brighton a 70m offer for Caicedo, and if you aren't getting the reception you want from their agents, and it looks like they are stalling to see what other offers they get, move on from them too.

It seems like the years of failure has broken your brains and not wanting to get bogged down in an unwinnable transfer saga for the 4th consecutive window is apparently a controversial take.

Alright. Folks (myself included) have poked fun at your-less-than-rosy view of Edu's abilities. But I don't recall anyone calling you or your family stupid. So let's refrain from doing that. Thanks.

Poke fun at me all you want, I don't mind. I dish it, and I can take it. But if people are going to construct strawmen or genuinely believe their insane nonsense in their replies, then no - something is wrong with them and I will call it out.

And you are free to call out flaws in their posts all you want. If you call people stupid again, I'll start deleting your posts.

He also needs conditioning to get in game shape. The Ukrainian league was coming off an almost two month winter break and he had just reported to training when the transfer happened.

In the summer Rice will have a year left on his contract, that’s why there is all the speculation around a transfer. The price won’t be £100m, outside of Madrid and PSG no team in Europe is going to even consider that kind of money and Madrid already has two very good young midfielders. If they are going to chase another it will be Bellingham. As far as the Premier League is concerned, Todd B just bought his £100m defensive midfielder and there are only a handful of other clubs potentially shopping in the ~£70m midfielder aisle.

Yeah I just heard that pod and Rice supposedly asking "What's it like?" And immediately my mind went to this...

In one of those Athletic pods on after the deadline, focusing on the Enzo deal, Ornstein speculated that Rice wouldn't go for £100m. He guessed it would be closer to £80-85m. I have no idea if he has a leg to stand on there, just passing along what he said.

We may see Trusty moved this summer. Seeing claims that Birmingham City wants to make his move permanent. Speculation I have seen is that Arsenal would/should want 12-15m. Seen some suggest 20m. Can BC afford that? If not, their interest may catch the attention of a lower EPL or upper Championship team looking to strengthen. Another thought... Jobe Bellingham + cash. May not end up as good as his brother but may be worth a shot and he is only 17.

If we manage to sell Auston Trusty for more than Leeds paid for Tyler Adams, Edu deserves a knighthood.

We have supposedly made first contact with another Brazilian whiz kid. Barca have supposedly already offered 25m euro.

After our recent run I'm prone to reassess my page 1 summer suggestion, specifically...

I'm thinking that White needs to be moved back to CB with only occasional stints at RB. Gabi, Saliba & White is a much stronger 3 man rotation that what we current have. Then I would try to find a right footed OZ for RB and utilize Tomi as a defensive RB as well as a defensive swiss army knife.

I was high on Eddie a few weeks ago but the last several games he has proven himself to not be good enough to be a starter for a top 6 EPL team and he has shown in the past to not be effective as a spot starter or spark off the bench. Still thinking we need to loan Balogun again next season but starting to think we need to move Eddie on and find a legit backup that could better serve our needs.

If Saliba renews his contract with us, Ben White turns into a very expensive backup CB. He is a subpar RB, who offers next to nothing going forward or inverting, and pre-slump was good defensively, because he is a CB at RB.

If Saliba doesn't renew, Ben White moves back into CB, we get a new RB, and Tomi becomes a utility player we can throw in at any position in the back 4.

Eddie needs to be sold. He benefited from the circumstances where we would have needed to sign 2 strikers in 1 window (and he shares an agent with Saka), so we renewed his contract. Maybe a newly promoted team will take him in the summer, or he has to take a move abroad to a weaker league.

Agree conceptually, but we already have the backup - it's Jesus. We need to aim for another starting-caliber 9; searching for a backup will mean a lot of expenditure with, at best, marginal improvement.

I honestly don't disagree at all. I guess the question is... Who? Who can you get that can impact the game like Jesus does (maybe not in the exact same manner) but puts more goals in the net? Do you make a run at Vlahovic? Osimhen? Kolo Muani? Lautaro Martinez?

It says Arsenal have a great chance to sign Zubimendi as Barca may not be able to afford him.

I would rather drop the €60 million and get him in for July 1, but knowing Edu we will make a €35 million bid in mid July and let others in on the sale.

We will need to upgrade the CM positions if we want to compete for the league and CL next season.

Osimhen's a good one, so is Lautaro, for sure.

Alternatively, you bring in a guy who you believe can approach the level of Jesus with potential to grow, like Goncalo Ramos.
