They nursed the 1-0 till the final minute or so when they put some icing on the cake. Didn't watch.

Tillman/Sands/Gers have Aberdeen tomorrow to decide Celtic opponent in the final.

    Out with a knock:

"The game took a fair bit out of us at the weekend. Cameron [Carter-Vickers] and Giakoumakis weren't available tonight both pulled up a bit sore. I wanted to freshen things up.

"Neither are serious we expect them at the weekend or the following weekend against Dundee United."

"Giakoumakis and Carter-Vickers pulled up sore from the weekend. At a stretch, Giako might be available for Saturday. Cam probably will be, but we’ll probably still rest him for Saturday even though it’s nothing significant." - Ange

Which is typical against Celtic for any club that is not Rangers.

CCV starts in his usual spot against St Johnstone. The winning streak looks in little danger of breaking. They lead 3-1 in the second half. The St Johnstone goal came down the opposite side; CCV slid across to try to block the blasted shot, but comes up just short of getting a touch, while Hart can't handle the pacy, knuckling ball either.

Gotta figure a mid-table EPL team comes calling for Cam this summer.

Up to 2-0 against Rangers. CCV doing the cool calm and control distribution. Malik Tillman being the only bright side in the Rangers attack in the game so far.

I didnt realize the gap in quality between Rangers and Celtic. They look like they belong in different divisions.
Of course as I hit the send button Rangers score a scrappy goal.

There’s been a lot of yapping in the press about how great Rangers have played since Michael Beale took over and the title race would so much closer had he been there from the start of the season. That may be true, but if I take off my homer glasses and set aside my bias, there is still a gulf in talent between Celtic and Rangers. The difference is the depth. Celtic has depth they haven’t had in years. Like quality depth. Depth that could let a good player like Giorgos Giakoumakis move to Atlanta and it not really have an effect. I just hope Celtic can manage to keep Postecoglou at the helm. Rumors are starting to link him to jobs down South. He doesn’t seem like he going to jump ship. He’s said all the right things and hinted he wants to get Celtic back to respectable in Europe before a move. We shall see…. Until then I’m going to enjoy the hell out of Celtic being miles better than Rangers.

Celtic are playing really nice team ball this season. Today their passing was especially smooth - although they got kind of ragged in the 2nd half. That Gers didn't make them pay for that slow roller across the 6 was criminal. But Posty has this team really in sync - very good team awareness every time I've watched them. Rangers still have a couple too many weak links atm.

I'd say there, not just is but was, just about zero chance of him moving south this season and relatively little chance before the end of next season, certainly not until Celtic's UEFA ball campaign next season comes to an end.

He's ambitious and Celtic can't satisfy his ambitions in the medium or long term, but his best chance of achieving those ambitions is by taking Celtic as far as he can in Europe. Why jump from Celtic to a relegation struggler - with 2/3rds of the season gone - when he can jump to an EL side in July.

Guessing who or where that might be is a mug's game, and will depend on what he achieves in UEFA ball next season, but let's say that he gets Celtic into the CL group stages and then "does a Rangers" and takes them to the EL final. He'll have his choice of EPL sides to choose from
