Media, Pa.'s Auston Trusty goes up and over the Boro defense to get the assist for Birmingham City Monday. Truly courageous header by the Philly Union product, who's played every minute for the Blues so far this season. I could swear that kid screaming in the video is wearing a UK hat--as in "University of Kentucky". Alas, twitter videos are always so poor quality on my computer that it's mostly a blur.
Birmingham is never leaving the Championship, and Auston is never playing for Arsenal. His contract expires this summer and I haven't heard anything about a renewal. What are his chances of staying in Europe after July? I like some of what I've seen of him, but at 24 and playing in a bottom-half of the table Ch'ship team, it's unlikely there are many eyes on him. He needs to be "rescued" by someone soon, and his best shot is one of the clubs moving up to the Championship next season, like Plymouth of Wednesday.
I hadn't realized that he's on such a short contract with Arsenal. Seems silly that they would pay for a transfer ($1.8M per transfermarkt) knowing that they'd loan him out for the duration. At this point he can just run his contract out and sign on a free after getting good exposure (I know you don't think anyone's watching). He's played every minute for Birmingham this season. He's been very good for them. I'm sure there are plenty of people who have noticed, and know that he's available for free in 6 months.
Have a personal connection to Plymouth and follow them closely. They've been very savvy with their transfers but I don't know if they could afford him if he wanted a Premier League-adjacent salary. But would absolutely love that move. Agree with @tomásbernal, think he's shown enough and played enough there to have a good shot with another team at this level. From there, who knows. He'll be better and more prepared at 25 than 24 and a lot of teams will be willing to take the bait.
Trusty starts against Bristol. They concede twice early before pulling one back on a penalty. Didn't see much mention of Trusty in places I looked.

Looks like he dislocated one of his fingers (thought it was broken at first). Trainer fixed it and taped it to the other finger and he keeps playing.

Maybe, but he come up trumps at the end as he grabs a late-into-stoppage-time winner that moves Birmingham 6 points clear of relegation.
Wow, that's quite a haul for a CB half way through a season! Hell, there are American forwards at various European clubs that would be envious of scoring 4 goals in the Championship.

In 113 MLS regular season games over 5 seasons, Auston scored 3 goals. In 29 Championship games in part of one season, he has 4 goals. Clearly, this means MLS is a better league.
