It was a fun, once in a life time year, unsustainable and we hit the inevitable wall and got thrown back down to reality when the Galaxy whooped our asses. It was a fun amazing year and I loved it.

We were never sustainable for the long haul with the age of players we had and contract sizes, injuries also started to derail plans as did some bad moves.

We've gotten progressively worse since 2012. Some hope, some fun moments, some cool shit but overall not very good.

We've made a couple great moves since 2008, some good, and a lot of really poor ones.

Dawkins 2.0, The Chivas Contingent and Company, Daniel Vega, Mikael Starhe, Pablo Pintos, Morrow/Beitashour traded, Gordon Traded for a bag of nuts, Jovan Kirovski, Edmundo, Eduardo, Simon Elliott, Andy Rios and the list can go on and on.

The Great... trading for Wondolowski. Trading for Lenhart, Trading for Alan Gordon, Jacob Peterson and Nana Attakora from Toronto, Darren Huckerby, Tommy Thompson being our 1st Home Grown.. Muma.

I like the team we have right now more then any team since 2013. I will like this team a lot more when we've replaced Yuiell, Thompson, Marie, and Beason.

We decided not to go to the Monterey game, due to the weather. Anyone want my 2 tix?

Chance of rain, as I write this it is partly cloudy with a bit of a breeze. Not any worse than it gets at PayPal.

I’m pretty confident that we will stand pat until the summer transfer window. By that time the team will have gelled and Leitch/Luchi will have a much better perspective on what ingredients are missing/need improvement. I’m good with that. We know Fisher’s pockets aren’t bottomless so it makes sense to fill proven needs after a bunch of games provides some perspective.

Leitch seems to like picking up guys that other teams need to move. He got Monteiro just prior to the season start last year so I bet he has his ear to the ground for another team that has cap issues or maybe is bringing in an international and needs roster space. I guess I feel there is one more piece coming.

I actually don't mind that mentality. We've gotten some great pieces like that in the past. I think Montiero will improve this year with Gruezo. He won't have to defend as much and work as much having to over compensate for Yueill and Judson's slack.

I think what we're really missing 2 things. A Manny Lagos type player and a Alan Gordon/Lenhart type player for us to have a really solid 11.

Hubby is convinced the heaviest rain will be during the game. And neither of us wants to drive 3 hours and be wet on top of that. We're just too old.

@SalinasQuakesFan let me know if you want my tix

I've been watching the weather situation. The rain has been getting pushed back a bit. Right now they have it starting at 8pm with 60% chance. So there's a chance that they'll be able to get most of the game in before the rain starts. Likely to get rain on the way home though.

I am sitting in a Starbucks 4 min from Cardinale Stadium. There is huge dark cloud outside. Am I expecting Deluge 2.0 Monterey Edition? The stadium has no roofs. PPP also has incomplete roofs. Oh well.

I was screaming “Go Quakes!” As they ran out for warmups. Monterey fans were unperturbed except for the little kids nearby who gave me an evil eye. :)
