LDLT looks a bit tired and his weak pass is a giveaway. And then gets himself a yellow fouling the player afterwards
Yeah, that was pretty funny, just ran over, threw the guy he gave the ball away to to the ground, and raised his hand "I did that".
Celta hold on after 12 minutes stoppage time. Big 3 points. Betis scored on a pk at about 85’, so 4-3 final. Game went full CONCACAF at the end.
Yep. And Celta Vigo should be very, very happy with him. They've looked surprisingly sharp and fun with him in the lineup. Commentators were wondering why he didn't get even more minutes sooner this season
LUCA DE LA TORRE ASSIST 🇺🇸🇪🇸🙌 The 24-year-old from San Diego with the sublime outside-of-the-boot volleyed chip to send Gabriel Veiga through for the goal. LDLT's 2nd assist in as many games for Celta.pic.twitter.com/317eYlC9cy— Men in Blazers (@MenInBlazers) February 4, 2023
Luca in the starting XI today as Celta hosts Atletico. Match is on ESPN+. The match, 15 minutes in, already has that chippy, intense vibe to it.
0-0 at the half. Tough opponent but Celta hanging in. Luca tried a shot from distance near end of half but sliced wide and high. Hanging in but looks like a 60’ or so sub might be in order.
HT 0-0 Plenty of fouls and choppy play in the midfield but no really fluidity for either team. Celta have had a couple of half chances but that’s about it. Luca has been fairly tidy with the ball but hasn’t been much of a threat with it. He did has a sliced shot that wasn’t must danger either.
1-0 AM in the 88th Luca came off at the 86th minute. Two minutes later. Memphis Depay scores off a deflected shot that luckily lands at his feet where he was in the right place and the right time to turn spin and finish.
Can't be that bad - he's starting again today as they look to assert themselves in the mid-table at slightly favored Osasuna.
Luca with a 13th minute yellow for a shirt tug of Moncayola at the start of a potential counter. 80 yards from goal, didn't seem necessary.
