What's the over/under on still having an interim for the Nations League finals games?

If we beat the Salvies, that is.

Just shows that some players were just as delusional as Gregg.

If anyone was actually happy with the USA's World Cup then they are more easily made happy than the average St. Bernard puppy. The USA played exactly one decent match, against England, and that match was a 0-0 draw so really the USA was satisfied with drawing and that is a good way to assure poor performance in the future. We only beat Iran and we almost failed at that easy task because Gregg acted like a idiot. Actually that is an insult to idiots world wide. Idiots are way up the intelligence scale from Gregg.

    Absolutely.

He did Gio and every coach Gio will ever have a HUGE favor.

People who do the tough things are rare and valuable. Berhalter is the anti-nepotism hero everyone hoped for.

His game management aside, the US may never have another player manager as good as Berhalther.

Weston was another player that Berhalter disciplined.

The difference? Weston learned from it.

The Reynas tried to torch US Soccer because their kid didn’t start over Tim Weah, who was playing more and better than Gio was at the time and who rewarded Berhalter with a goal Gio would never have scored.

at some point someone has to step on the kid and his mommy and daddy.

gio and his families attitudes are about 500 goals short to be where it is.

imean, i remember the u17 and how gio bombed that tourney with selfishness

    but qatar was much different.

from what ive seen the last few weeks, gio shouldve played in qatar on potential alone (even though he wasnt only potential)

I want Gregg gone, but I think Round of 16 should be the bare minimum for the USMNT.

By all appearances, Berhalter would have loved to have subbed Gio on against Wales, however, Gio ruled himself out with his behavior and his parents made sure he wouldn’t play in that game.

Gio and the Reynas wasted his opportunity to earn his minutes in the World Cup. His coach made it clear what he was going to have to do to get on the field and the Reynas responded by trying to destroy the US national team while they were at the World Cup.

In my opinion Berhalter was more forgiving than he should have been. He should have sent Gio home to get the Reynas out of the team’s business. That would have handled it pretty quickly.

Had that happened under Klinsmann Gio probably would’ve been sent home to rethink his commitment to the team.

The USA played well compared to what most people who actually know the sport expected.

Our players are just not that good dude. Honest.

One of the possibilities posited in this forum has been that the players would not respect Berhalter because they are used to a different quality of coach - a European coach with all the bells and whistles or whatever.

From my viewpoint, it's quite possible that many of our players are sick and tired of European coaches. Or at least I can't think of a player that even likes his club coach.

Nearly 100%. We won't have a Sporting Director before summer if we're lucky, according to Cindy Parlow Cone.

Really? The Fulham boys don’t like their coach? Maybe Leeds is a bad example…. Reyna doesn’t?

I might be in the dark but I’ve never seen this sentiment outside of maybe Pulisic but definitely Clint Mathis

its worse then that they've hired a search firm to prove greg is the only candidate so its likely the sd will be hired knowing that they will 'hire' greg as the coach. in the meantime they pretend to go after a bunch of people not interested to fill peoples twitter timelines.

Sounds like a massive waste of time and money but let's hope at least it's entertaining.

Ask Arteta next. For the lulz.

So much USMT damage in Europe this weekend/recent weeks:

balogun - hat trick, winner vs PSG, leading french league in scoring
pefok - game winning goal to take his team top of bundesliga
de la torre - assists in back-to-back games
reyna - 3 goals in 3 sub appearances, 1 amazing game winner
bryan reynolds has been on a tear, despite no goals.assists
austin trusty - game winning goal
terrence boyd - game winning goal (2nd leading scorer in bundesliga 2 this year)
malik tillman - game winning goal, 3 goals in recent games
taylor booth - eredivisie team of the week recently, supporters chanting his name
chris richards - 3rd start in the EPL - coming off POTM for crystal palace

NONE of these players started a single game in Qatar!!!

Chris Richards was injured all fall prior to Qatar, if healthy he would have been one of the starting CB's.

Balogun is NOT part the USMNT player pool.....

But his is (still, at this moment) US-eligible. And his buddy Musah is putting in a word or three.

Hey, I didn't say he was ours. I'm saying there's a chance. If you take away all our chances, then we've got no reason to be fans. ;)
